We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Laquinceya Wilson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Laquinceya , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I developed my confidence off my music. My name is Laquinceya Wilson , “ Lil Q” .Growing up I got bullied and talked about for my skin and my size.I use to think that I was very ugly or to darkskin. Also,I had no confidence or self-esteem. Until one day , my grandmother died and I made my first song and it made me so happy I knew then that music was my key to gain confidence.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most impactful moments for me was when I gave back to my school my 12th grade year donated $1400 to the basketball team, another was when I hit 1million plus views on Worldstar , and last was when I performed at 901 day. my advice to any one in they early journey is to go for it nobody can STOP YOU BUT YOU.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My biggest growth and improvement was combining my singing and rapping together to get a unique sound. Another , was balancing my mental health and my music life at the same time.
