Meet Peony Tattoo and cafe

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Peony Tattoo and cafe. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Peony below.

Hi Peony , so happy to have you on the platform with us today and excited to chat about your lessons and insights. Our ability to make good decisions can massively impact our lives, careers and relationships and so it would be very helpful to hear about how you built your decision-making skills.
Here at Peony we value collaboration and transparency in our decision-making process. We operate as a collective, meaning every team member’s voice is heard and considered. We discuss concerns openly, and decisions are made through mutual agreement, ensuring that the outcome reflects the best interests of everyone involved.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Our tattoo shop is more than just a place to get a tattoo, it’s a unique blend of creativity and community. Located within a cozy cafe and speakeasy setting, we offer an atmosphere where art and culture collide. Join us for our weekly figure drawing classes, unwind at our comedy nights, and stay tuned for a lineup of exciting upcoming events. Whether you’re here for a tattoo or just to soak in the vibes, our shop is a haven for artists, coffee lovers, and anyone looking for a one of a kind experience.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Research Research Research! During the process of opening Peony Tattoos and cafe, we ran into a lot small hurdles that snowballed into a lot of delays to finally opening. Turns out combining two of our favorite things, coffee and tattoos, isn’t as easy opening one or the other. Our recommendation is to talk to business owners and contractors that have done something along the lines of what you’re trying to accomplish. Creating relationships with other business owners will help tons in the long run.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Patience. Rome wasn’t built in a day, take your time to do things. This applies to tattooing, opening a cafe and opening a business. Rushing things will never end how you think. Make sure to do everything in their entirety without cutting corners but it will always pay off in the long run!
