We were lucky to catch up with Naivi Oliva recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Naivi, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
Coming from an insurance sales background, conducting business and sales was taught in a systematic way. Connecting the spiritual to the work was not a skill that was supported. I was always connecting with clients by molding my spirituality to meet them at their emotional level to find out the purpose they envisioned so I can match them with the product right for them. I was often pointed at and criticized by other team members that couldn’t understand that aspect of business and were astonished at how I was able to surpass all the sales benchmarks. Working in competitive office settings was difficult for me as it comes with many toxic energies but that was my driving force to continue connecting to my spiritual intuition and allowing it to flow my life towards my true purpose.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Plant Nursery specializing in medicinal plants, ornamental plants, potted plants and fresh herbs. At just seven years in business we are now celebrating our first land purchase. We began in a backyard with a plant we brought back to life and life has only blossomed from that moment for our family.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back my top three skills that were the key to my success was: 1. The ability to NEVER stop DREAMING. 2. Visualizing every detail and using inspired action. 3. Connecting Mind, Body, and Spirit are the key to happiness and happiness is the FUEL needed in this world.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My mother was a teen mom when I was born. This helped mold me in such creative ways, it allowed me to be independant and grounded.
