All right – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Calvaniece Mason. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation; we’ve shared it below.
Calvaniece, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant, or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
I have learned to accept and embrace any room that I am invited into or any room that I am in because I understand that I am just as deserving as anyone else occupying the space that I am in.
My character and who I am as a person will always show up and speak for itself. I have learned that it’s extremely important that I always show up as my authentic self and embrace what makes me unique and different. Also, when I am in a room with others that may not look like me, I tap into all my positive attributes that make up who I am as a person.
I always look at it as an opportunity for growth, enlightenment and understanding because while none of us look alike we all have something that we can learn from each other and sometimes many of us have more things in common than we may know.
So, for me to be effective and successful when I am in a room with others, I remind myself that I am exactly where I need to be at that moment, and I am just as worthy and deserving as anyone else in the room.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Being consistent, having resilience and learning to be more collaborative than competitive.
When you can effectively become consistent you will develop persistency in your pursuit to accomplish any goals that you have set for yourself.
You will develop the strength and will power to keep going even when the going gets tough. Understanding that everything takes time, and nothing manifests all at once but if you can just stay the course, you will always reap everything that you desire.
My advice to anyone on the journey of entrepreneurship or even corporate professionals because a lot of times we glorify the pros of being an entrepreneur but there are also a lot of cons because there is much more risk involved with being an entrepreneur.
I want to make it clear that there is nothing wrong with aspiring to advance in your position in the corporate world or if you are currently employed with a company because there are a lot of high earning salary positions just remember to remain consistent and in alignment with your pursuit of your personal life goals.
It’s also very important to develop the skill set of resilience, coping with the fear of failure, work/life balance, owning your accomplishments even the smallest of smallest ones and collaborating over competing.
Just take a moment to reflect on how Covid-19 has impacted a lot of businesses large and small. We have seen a lot of franchise restaurants, banks and retail stores be impacted by the single shift of being locked down by Covid-19.
The entire world came to a standstill something we have never experienced before but this experience birthed a shift in our economy.
We have seen many companies not survive and even change their business model with remote positions. We have seen brands shift and collaborate with other brands to sustain their business.
There is always strength in numbers, know this you don’t have to compete against anyone you need to always focus your attention on being creative. Never forget that what’s is for you will never pass you by.
Okay, so before we go, we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
My business space is all about collaboration.
I think collaboration is a big aid in driving success in any business model and we see larger brands doing it all the time even luxury brands we have seen Gucci collaborate with Adidas and North Face by understanding there target audience demographic and leveraging other brands platforms that share a common target audience or influence on an audience the brand may not have a reach to.
I am all about collaboration, my company is always aiming to collaborate with Nano and Micro influencers. I want to collaborate with the new and upcoming females on their journey to becoming an influencer and are on the journey to building their audience and platform.
