Meet Rachel Curtis

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rachel Curtis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.

When your current situation is worse than the unknown, it becomes easier to take a risk. I learned from doing an exercise program that if I wanted different results, I had to do things differently. Now, I try to do as many new and different things as I can to test the waters and see what will stick.

In business, I learned that the more networking I did, the more opportunity became available to me. Failure is part of the learning experience and NO stands for “Next Opportunity. ” Keep going until the doors open. Don’t get discouraged when you are seeking to make improvements in your life because though it doesn’t usually come easy, the hard work pays off in the end.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

We are a team of full service event planners. We help our clients plan their event, so they can focus on the things in their life that are most important.

We help engaged couples plan their wedding from start to finish.
We also help plan corporate events, social events and charity events all over the US.

We help our clients find a location for their event along with Catering, DJ, Live Band, Photographer, Officiant, Decor, Rentals, Pre Martial Counseling, Makeup artist, Hair stylist, Photo Booth, Pet Sitter, Transportation, Invitations, Webcasting, Live painter, Bar Service and so much more.

The most exciting part of event planning is the relationships that we build with our clients. We really get to know them so that we can help bring their vision to life.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three skills that were most helpful in starting my business were 1. a hunger and desire for more than your current situation 2. seeking out a mentor and 3. Not giving up.

Having the desire for more will always serve you in your ability for growth.

We all need to be around people who know more than we do. When we surround ourselves with these people, we grow.
When times get hard, we have to get creative and find new ways to do business and to get our name out there.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

Our ideal client is anyone who is engaged to be married and looking for a destination wedding inside the US. Our Ideal client could also be a CEO of a small business, looking to have a holiday party, book signing, sales event, or corporate meeting. Our ideal client could also be a parent who would like to give their child a memorable birthday celebration.
Our ideal client could also be someone looking to host a family reunion within the US. If you own a Charity and are looking to host an event to raise money for the cause we would love to work with you.
