Meet Backyard Comedy

 

We were lucky to catch up with Backyard Comedy recently and have shared our conversation below.

Backyard, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

Antonio, Onyx, and Terrence the three heartbeats of Backyard Comedy LLC. We all grew up in a small town near Fayetteville, NC, called Clinton. It’s a place we hold dear. We met there as kids playing instruments together for church. After high school, we each went our separate ways in an attempt to find success, uncertain of where these paths would lead. I believe I speak for all of us when I say that life came at us quickly, and things did not turn out exactly as we had planned. We ended up living in three different cities, leading our own lives, and there were times we didn’t stay in touch as often, or sometimes not at all. However, our love for each other never wavered. As unexpected events occurred in our lives, our paths gradually began to shift, and naturally, we started reaching out to one another just to check in, not realizing how much we needed the laughs, jokes, and prayers from each other.

One day, while at our Host Antonio’s house by his pool table, he shared an idea he had envisioned during a conversation with friends at a cookout. While others had ideas, they were not willing to follow through. We believe everything happens for a reason because when he told me the idea, it was clear that we had to pursue it. Our journey began right there at the pool table with audio sessions, and as we delved deeper, more ideas emerged, and we began to grow. We eventually transitioned to video, and everything began to flow like clockwork. People started approaching us, telling us how much they enjoyed watching us and how we brought joy or peace to their day. At that moment, we realized our purpose, and why God had brought back together at this point. We then prayed together as brothers for God’s guidance on this journey, and He is indeed guiding us. It’s amazing how things work out because who would have guessed that God would bring us all back together as adults to do this and just two years later, we would be blessed to be where we are today!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Backyard Comedy LLC embodies our ambition to create a podcast that we intend to evolve into a comprehensive corporation. With the guidance of a higher power and the encouragement of many individuals who have influenced our journey, we have initiated this endeavor from its inception to build a robust foundation. Each episode of our program is committed to cultivating joy and affection within communities worldwide, as we endeavor to encourage healing and positivity that uplifts the hearts and minds of our listeners. We aspire to further engage with other like-minded enterprises to promote and expand our brand.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Reflecting on our experiences as young musicians, we were nurtured to collaborate effectively, engage in creative thinking, and utilize our talents to convey powerful messages through entertainment. Our counsel for emerging podcasters is to discover what resonates with you and persistently dedicate yourself to it, regardless of the opinions or criticisms from detractors. It is essential to remain true to your vision and, above all, prioritize your higher purpose.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

Occasionally, the process of maintaining viewer engagement can be overwhelming. It is important to acknowledge that taking a moment to breathe is acceptable; however, this breath should be utilized for meditation, exploration, and the generation of innovative ideas that will enhance your craft. We recommend that you persist in overcoming challenges and ensure a continuous stream of content. Even if it becomes necessary to reserve some material for later, it is crucial to consistently share something with your audience.
