We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Meaghan Dunham a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Meaghan, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
For years, I struggled with crippling self-doubt in my professional life. I knew I wanted more from my career (I was a public school teacher at the time), but I had no idea what it looked like or where to start. I thought that, because my degree was in public school education, that’s all I could ever do.
In 2017, I was gifted with my very first astrology reading. For the first time, I was able to see myself and my experiences from an objective perspective. I started exploring my deepest wounds and conditioning and began a long road toward self-acceptance. Step by step, day by day, I began to become more familiar with who I was and what I desired. Through a lot of trial and error, I discovered that my purpose was much more than a specific statement — it was a feeling I wanted to embody — and a feeling I wanted to give to others, too.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As an Intuitive Coach, my speciality is helping visionary women take the next big steps in life and business.
Through the power of my clients’ unique Astrological and Ayurvedic blueprint — and with the support of ancient holistic modalities — we identify what makes them who they are and how their innate strengths can be leveraged to ensure their business can weather all the ups and downs. 🌟
My goal is to hold a mirror up to each of my clients and allow them to see themselves for who they really are: capable, strong, intelligent, and badass humans.
Currently, I support clients in a membership community called the Venusian Society and through personalized Astrology Readings.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I’m so grateful that I have such a variety of skills. I think they have all helped me in a number of ways as I have moved through my entrepreneurial journey. I’m so grateful for the public speaking and organization skills I learned from being a teacher. I’m grateful for the tech and marketing skills I learned from working at a corporate start-up. And, I’m forever grateful for the emotional intelligence and self-study work I continue to do through my study of Yoga Philosophy and Astrology.
It can be really easy to give away too much of yourself early in your journey of entrepreneurship. If I could go back and give myself advice in the first year of my business, I’d say to make sure that you’re not abandoning yourself in pursuit of what you THINK you should do. Rather, get very clear on what you WANT to do, and be fearless in the pursuit of it, even if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The most impactful book I have ever read is “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. I first came across this book when I was 19 and have read it no less than 5 times since. It opened my eyes to a new way of thinking about what we can achieve, and how powerful the Universe can be as a partner in helping us achieve it.
