Meet Raven “dream” Collins

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Raven “dream” Collins. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Raven “Dream”, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

Growing up I had to learn that self love is the BEST kind of love! Knowing yourself understanding and learning your likes/dislike’s… You will then know how to carry yourself and be confident to walk into any room without having low self-esteem.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Raven Collins- Publicly known as Dream Collins CEO/Founder of “Dream Big Tv Network” based in Houston, Texas who’s originally from Houma, Louisiana!

I am a 34 year old Preachers kid second to the baby of 6 kids. So can you just imagine how active our household was? With everyone being gifted in many ways from singers, musicians, athletes, and writers. We never had that chance to reach our full potential and experience what we could have really achieved! Growing up where church was all we did and coming up under a religion were sports, pants, listening to any music other than gospel music was a sin! Let’s just say it has been a roller coaster trying to figure out where in this world did I really belong.

With now 3 years of experience in the media industry, coming from the food industry with over 10+ years of experience in management. I felt as if a change was needed in order for me to become who I really was meant to be!

How my transformation came about, In 2021 I met a Great Chef from South America, Peru Chef Byron Davenport who’s in the media industry as well! I met him while I was working and he came in to speak with a manager concerning showcasing the restaurant. With me being one of the managers on duty that evening, it was meant just for me to be the one to approach him to ask about his concerns. While talking with him he began to tell me a little about himself, his passion, and vision for his network! Before I knew it we had talked for at least 30 minutes with him offering me to join his team. Never in my life have I thought about stepping into the media industry. With it now being 3 years later, I now have my own Media company!

Becoming my own boss wasn’t as easy as it may have seemed! Yes, having the experience with being behind the scenes of other Networks gave me somewhat of an advantage. Having to think about where, when, and how to start constantly kept me up many of nights. Which helped me realize that Dream Big Tv was going to be my baby, foundation, empire, and is also my passion. Deciding what to do with this platform came easy! With being more involved with the community, my love for it began to grow. So I decided to make “Dream Big Tv” a platform for those that are willing, trying, determined, dedicated and passionate about their crafts/business!

Dream Big Tv Network now being open for a little over a year unexpectedly with all platforms combined we now have over 20,000 followers while still growing everyday! In under a year our platform was picked by Medioq which features other Big Medias as well! To also include that we are even Touring as well!

So I encourage you to never give up, keep striving, keep a positive mindset, attitude, and watch how your dream can to come true!! It won’t be easy but keep going and watch you grow!!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

You have to have the “Gift of Gab” meaning knowing how to talk to people. With me coming from working in the food industry to now in the Community! The best thing you can do is put yourself out there! Don’t be afraid to Network because you just never know who may need your services or you may need theirs!

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

The Number One obstacle and challenge I have to face is getting back into the Field. I had to put my business on pause because of family problems. I moved back to Louisiana to help tend to my mom whom recently passed June 27,2024. So now I’m just trying to get back to the flow of things and regaining my passion that I’ve had for it when first started.
