Meet Princess Smith

We recently connected with Princess Smith and have shared our conversation below.

Princess, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I learned to develop my confidence and self esteem by remembering that I’m here on this Earth for a purpose, just like everyone else. Therefore, I can take up just as much space, and feel comfortable with that!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My name is Princess Elecktra, I’m 24 and Im from Washington, D.C. but I moved to Maryland when I was younger.
I first learned about tarot when I was 19. I was surfing on youtube aimlessly & came across a tarot video. Curious, I clicked on it, not expecting much. The entire video resonated and helped me in a way I didn’t know I needed. Soon after, I wanted to be able to help people in the same way.
I dabbled in it a little at first, being gifted my first deck. When I turned 20, I decided to actually make a business page & show off some of my talent. I didn’t expect to be where I am now with my business. I stepped out on faith one day, and it truly worked in my favor!
I love connecting with my clients on a more personal level, hitting on specific details they didn’t expect me to pick up on, and knowing that I could provide them with help or guidance!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Perseverance was a skill I had to develop while my business was growing, because there were times that I wanted to give up on it.
Consistency was also very impactful for me because when I first started out, I wasn’t being consistent, and I actually had people asking when I would post next! Thats what made me keep going.
Lastly, patience. I have now been reading for 5 years, and not only did I need patience with developing my craft, but I needed patience with the speed my business was growing. I tended to get very excited about projects & often forgot the journey, because I was so focused on the destination!
I think my best piece of advice for those who are early on in their journey would be to never give up on yourself. People can encourage you, but it’s ultimately you that has to carry that dream out! Don’t be afraid to take a chance on yourself!

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I try to find a quiet place away from any distractions, and sit with myself for as long as I need. Doing breath work has also helped me. While doing this, I either have meditation music or white noise playing, or I’m just sitting with the silence.
