We recently connected with Allison Cammilleri and have shared our conversation below.
Allison, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I have spent my entire career in the hospitality industry. First, for years waiting tables and then shifting to the catering industry. Following that, for nearly a decade, I worked for a local Austin restaurant group, where I established a genuine love for the events industry.
Recognizing a growing need to help restaurants and bars build private event management programs, I founded The Venue Collective in 2017.
The heart of everything we do at The Venue Collective is helping people and making people happy.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
What Makes The Venue Collective Different
The Venue Collective was born out of a deep passion for the hospitality and event industry. After over a decade in the industry I realized there was a gap in the private event market. I saw the opportunity to provide venues with the expertise of a professional event manager without the overhead of a full-time salaried employee. This epiphany led to the creation of TVC, a private event management service that brings top-notch event management to both venues and party hosts.
Party Hosts:
Even if you have ever taken on the role of party host, you can imagine the challenges. You’re in a big city where you may not be familiar with every area. You want a venue that fits 100 people, but everything you find seems too big or too small. You have a budget in mind, but it’s just not coming together. And coordinating food, drinks, and music? It’s all too much.
Venue Partners:
Now, imagine you own a popular restaurant and bar downtown. You’re managing all your employees, keeping up with ordering, maintaining marketing, serving your guests, and more. You’ve been asked if you can host an upcoming 50th birthday party, but how do you find the bandwidth to handle that? That’s where TVC steps in. We handle the coordination of all your events from top to bottom.
This combination is what makes us different. We take the hardest parts off the plates of both party hosts and venues and tackle them together. The TVC Approach is Events Made Easy.
A recent exciting milestone in our journey:
What started 7 years ago as Austin Venue Collective has now evolved into The Venue Collective, reflecting an exciting expansion beyond Austin and into the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area. This rebranding not only marks our growth but also our commitment to bringing our unique approach of private event management to more cities and venues across Texas.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Being driven by relationships- The relationships we have with our clients, partners, and colleagues mean everything to us. Getting out there and networking in your area of interest will help you get where you want to go.
Making people happy- At the heart of everything we do is helping people making people happy. When we’re able to help people and the result makes them happy, we’re happy. Find what makes you happy and pursue that thing.
Doing whatever it takes- Always striving to enhance the experience for our clients and partners. Going above and beyond will show how much you care and yield incredible value for you and your business.
A method to the madness- We take a thoughtful and organized approach to our process, making it a seamless experience for everyone involved. Take time to think through what you’re going after.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes, we are always looking for people to partner and collaborate with!
Venue Partners- If you’re a bar, restaurant, or unique venue space located in the Austin or DFW area stretched for bandwidth, and don’t know where or how to begin to build out your private event program, we are here to help. We become your in-house event manager, handling every single aspect of the process. We build the private event program, field inquiries, conduct site tours, coordinate vendors, negotiate contracts, and everything in between!
Party Hosts- Venue sourcing is rarely seamless but we’re here to make the process as efficient and enjoyable as possible. Our one-stop-shop approach helps you find the perfect party venue, so you can focus on what matters most: bringing your people together.
Event Vendors- We’re always looking for other event professionals to refer or collaborate with. If you’re a florist, entertainment company, caterer, or any other type of event vendor in the Austin or DFW area we would love to connect.
Event Managers- We hire Event Manager contractors in the Austin and DFW areas to manage private events for our partner locations.
