We were lucky to catch up with Avb recently and have shared our conversation below.

AVB, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

Ways I keep my creativity alive would definitely be not waiting for it to come to me. I used to struggle with this very thing so much as I started my career, I feel as creatives we can give ourselves so much blame as to why we aren’t inspired or not making things that we don’t deem good in our eyes. Believe or not taking a nap works for me lol , or even watching my favorite creatives on YouTube whether it’s old Pharrell studio videos or even a Mike Amiri runway show . Anything and everything creative fuels that area for me! You have to look for inspiration in order to keep your creativity alive.

Ernso Fable, aka AVB, I am a Grammy-nominated/RIAA Gold Producer & Songwriter.

Born out of Orlando, Florida. I first learned about producing during my sophomore year of high school, though I have always had a passion for music since I was six years old, playing drums at my local church as a kid.

That passion has given me today the pleasure of working with artists such as Queen Naija, Eric Bellinger, Mario, Rotimi, G-Eazy, Agnez Mo, and many more.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back , the three qualities, skills , or area of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey would definitely be having the ability to stay focused, creative, and having faith . The advice I’d have for folks who are early in their journey would definitely be to stay consistent regardless what naysayers or anyone who doesn’t believe in what you believe yourself to be. Remember that you decided to go on the path you chose , it’s your responsibility to act on it! How you can improve that would definitely be to surround yourself with like minded individuals and learn from people who are actually way better than you! it’s actually a CHEATCODE honestly

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

The times that i feel overwhelmed it just means im trying to do too much at one time. Its way easier to attack things one by one , always put into perspective that life is a marathon not a race , everyone isn’t on the same pace but the end goal will always be the say regardless. Focus on you lane and don’t worry about what others are doing besides you. God has out you in your own path for a reason, create YOUR legacy!
