Meet Amber Shaffer

We were lucky to catch up with Amber Shaffer recently and have shared our conversation below.

Amber, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I over come imposter syndrome. By seeing that being like everyone else isn’t gonna help you succeed in your business when I first started photography I was trying to be more like the other photographers than just finding my own style it took a few years to understand that and over come that.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Hey I am a local photographer here in NC near Charlotte NC. I’ve been in the business for about 3 years going on 4 now. I started photography because it’s something that I enjoy doing and I enjoy taking pictures of my children and my family. I shoot with Canon EOS. I do Authentic Wedding and lifestyle photography of families couples pets and branding for other local business. I’ve also done events for local churches. In the area.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I found 3 photographers to look up to and it helped inprove my quality of photos and dealing with the public.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

My husband as actually pushed me to do more and be more successful for my photography business.
