Meet Michele Lefler

We were lucky to catch up with Michele Lefler recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Michele, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

Resilience has been the foundation of my journey, both personally and professionally. Building my coaching practice hasn’t just been about starting a business; it has been about reclaiming my strength after some of the hardest experiences life threw my way.

Growing up, I faced early childhood trauma that shaped how I saw the world and my place in it. I learned how to navigate feelings of powerlessness and insecurity at a young age, and those survival skills became my foundation. While those experiences weren’t easy, they ultimately shaped my ability to endure and persevere.

When I was 31 I lost my partner and became a young widow. That reshaped everything for me. Grief is an all-consuming force that can either paralyze you or push you into action. I had to choose to keep moving, not because I felt ready, but because survival demanded it. That experience taught me that resilience isn’t about feeling strong; it’s about finding a way forward, even when it feels impossible.

Resilience has been a process of transforming pain into power. Meditation became one of my core personal tools. It helped me ground myself when everything felt chaotic, and it allowed me to turn inward for the strength I needed to keep going. Now it’s one of the foundational aspects of my coaching.

One essential habit I’ve developed is embracing vulnerability and accepting that life’s challenges are a part of the journey. Each setback or heartache has taught me something valuable, and I carry those lessons with me as I continue to grow.

Ultimately, my resilience isn’t just about surviving difficult moments—it’s about using those moments as fuel to create something meaningful, for myself and for others. Every time I get back up, I’m reminded that resilience is a practice, not a trait. It’s about showing up, even when the road ahead feels uncertain.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My work centers around helping people connect deeply with themselves, using energetic and spiritual practices to find clarity and healing. Living Moon Meditation grew out of my own experiences with loss, trauma, and the journey toward self-acceptance. I’ve taken those difficult moments and transformed them into tools that I now share with others, helping people access their own resilience and inner wisdom.

What excites me most about my practice is how it merges the spiritual with the practical. My work isn’t just about mindfulness or relaxation, though those are important—it’s about giving people the tools to reclaim their power, especially in the face of life’s toughest challenges. Whether it’s through guided meditations, courses, coaching, or spiritual guidance, I focus on supporting people as they navigate through their shadow and tap into the strength they didn’t know they had.

One aspect I’m especially passionate about is creating accessible and inclusive spiritual resources. I know firsthand how isolating grief and trauma can be, and it’s important to me that Living Moon Meditation feels like a welcoming space for everyone—no matter where they’re coming from in life.

Right now, I’m gearing up for a redesign of a program I offered last year. Reclaiming Joy: Holiday Renewal and Grief Support is designed to support those struggling with grief or emotional overwhelm during the holiday season. As someone who has faced loss, I understand how challenging this time of year can be, so this program combines mindfulness, meditation, and spiritual practices to provide comfort, healing, and a path toward rediscovering joy. Whether you’re grieving or just looking for emotional renewal, this program offers a compassionate space to find peace during the holidays.

Living Moon Meditation is more than just a brand—it’s a space for transformation. Everything I offer is rooted in the belief that healing and empowerment go hand in hand, and that everyone has the ability to grow, no matter how hard the journey has been.

I’m always excited to connect with new people and share the tools that have helped me find peace, resilience, and purpose in my own life.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been resilience, self-compassion, and the ability to hold space for others.

Resilience isn’t something you are born with. It’s a skill that we develop—and I had to develop it through some of life’s hardest moments. Losing my partner and facing early trauma forced me to learn how to keep going, even when I felt broken. My advice for developing resilience is to start small. It’s not about being strong all the time, but about finding ways to get back up, even when you feel like you can’t. Practice showing up for yourself, one step at a time.

Self-compassion has been equally important. It’s so easy to be hard on ourselves, especially when we’re trying to build something meaningful. But through my grief and healing, I learned that being kind to myself is essential. For those just starting their journey, I’d say practice forgiving yourself. You don’t need to have everything figured out or be perfect. Allow yourself the grace to grow, learn, and make mistakes along the way.

Finally, holding space for others—truly being present and empathetic—has shaped my work in ways I didn’t expect. People are drawn to authenticity and understanding, especially when they’re hurting. If you want to develop this, start by listening deeply to those around you. Practice being there without trying to fix or change anything. This creates trust, connection, and a deeper sense of purpose in everything you do.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, I’m always open to partnering with like-minded individuals and organizations who align with the mission of Living Moon Meditation. I’m especially interested in collaborating with people who work in the fields of energetic wellness, grief support, spiritual growth, or mindfulness, and who are passionate about creating inclusive and transformative spaces. Whether you’re an artist, healer, coach, or another spiritual entrepreneur, I’d love to explore how we can combine our strengths to offer even more value to those we serve. The best way to move forward is to checkout my website to get a deeper understanding of what I do and then reach out directly to see how we can create something meaningful together!
