We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Coralin Allen. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Coralin below.
Coralin , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
The first step for me was recognizing when I was experiencing imposter syndrome. I started writing down those moments when I felt like a fraud. Seeing it on paper helped me realize how often it happened and that it wasn’t based on reality. I began challenging my inner critic. Whenever I had a negative thought, I asked myself if there was any real evidence to support it. Most of the time, there wasn’t. Instead of seeing mistakes as failures, I tried to view them as learning opportunities. This shift in perspective made a huge difference in how I approached challenges. Talking to friends, mentors, or a therapist helped me a lot. They provided an outside perspective and reminded me of my achievements when I couldn’t see them myself. I started keeping a folder of positive feedback and accomplishments. Whenever I felt down, I looked through it to remind myself of what I’ve achieved. Being kind to myself was crucial. I reminded myself that it’s okay to make mistakes and that I’m constantly growing and learning. Sometimes, just taking a small step forward helped break the cycle of self-doubt. Action, no matter how small, can be a powerful antidote to feeling stuck.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
