We were lucky to catch up with Kyle Krall recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Kyle with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic comes from the values I’ve been raised with and the experiences that have shaped me. I’ve always believed in pushing myself to be the best I can, whether it’s through sports or photography. Growing up, I learned early on that dedication and discipline are key to achieving success. My passion for what I do drives me to put in the necessary time and effort, and I’ve always held myself to a high standard, knowing that the results are a reflection of the work I put in.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
MediaByKyle is my personal brand where I focus on photography, videography, and digital content creation. I work with a wide range of clients, from athletes and teams to local events, capturing moments that tell powerful stories. What excites me most about MediaByKyle is the ability to blend my creative vision with the emotions of the people and events I cover. Whether I’m on the sidelines of a high school football game or documenting a special event, I aim to deliver content that resonates and captures the essence of the experience.
One thing I pride myself on is my versatility—I’ve worked in sports photography, event coverage, and even some commercial projects. I use tools like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro to bring a polished, professional look to everything I create. My goal is to continuously evolve, learn, and push the boundaries of what I can do creatively.
Recently, I’ve been focusing on expanding my work into new areas, including video production for local events and collaborating with larger brands in Fort Worth. I’m also exploring more storytelling through long-form video content, which I think will add a new dimension to MediaByKyle.
At the end of the day, it’s all about connection—whether it’s through a powerful image or a video that moves someone emotionally, I want my work to leave an impact.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I think three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are persistence, adaptability, and a passion for learning.
Persistence is huge. In both photography and videography, not every project goes as planned, and it’s easy to get discouraged when things don’t turn out the way you want. I’ve had plenty of moments where I didn’t get the perfect shot or a project didn’t come together like I envisioned, but it’s about pushing through those setbacks and staying committed. The more you keep going, the better you get. Persistence is what separates those who stick around from those who give up too soon.
Adaptability has also been key. The creative field is constantly changing—new tools, techniques, and trends pop up all the time. I’ve had to learn how to be flexible and willing to adjust my approach, whether it’s mastering new software like Adobe Premiere Pro or shifting my style to fit a client’s vision. Being adaptable not only keeps me relevant but also allows me to grow as an artist.
Lastly, a passion for learning has driven everything I do. I never want to be stagnant. Whether it’s learning a new editing technique, taking inspiration from other creators, or improving my business skills, I’m always looking for ways to improve. I think that hunger for growth is what has allowed me to keep pushing the boundaries of what I can do with MediaByKyle.
For anyone early in their journey, my advice is simple: stay curious and be open to learning. Don’t be afraid of failure, because every setback is an opportunity to improve. Surround yourself with people who inspire you and push you to be better. And most importantly, stay persistent—your work will evolve, and so will you, but only if you keep at it.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
One book that has played a big role in my inspiration and growth is *The Outsiders* by S.E. Hinton. It may seem like an unexpected choice, but I think the themes of loyalty, identity, and resilience really resonated with me, especially as I’ve navigated my own journey in both life and creativity.
One of the biggest nuggets of wisdom from the book is the idea that despite differences in background or circumstance, everyone goes through struggles. The characters in *The Outsiders* come from different worlds, yet they all experience loss, friendship, and personal growth. That’s a reminder to me that no matter where someone starts or what challenges they face, they have the power to shape their own path.
Another takeaway that sticks with me is the importance of staying true to yourself. Ponyboy’s journey is all about figuring out who he is in a world that tries to label him. I think, in my own life, that’s been something I’ve embraced—staying authentic to my vision and not letting outside expectations dictate what I create or how I grow.
Finally, the theme of resilience is something I carry with me. Life, like the creative process, is full of ups and downs. What matters most is how you keep pushing forward and stay committed to what you believe in, even when things are tough.
