Meet Natalia Carnevale

We recently connected with Natalia Carnevale and have shared our conversation below.

Natalia, thank you so much for making time for us today. We’re excited to discuss a handful of topics with you, but perhaps the most important one is around decision making. The ability to make decisions is a key requirement for anyone who wants to make a difference and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your decision-making skills.
I use to struggle a lot with analysis paralysis. However, as I have grown I have come to recognize that was a self defense mechanism. The best analogy I have for this is a mama duck and her ducklings. If she starts moving every little duckling follows.
Decisions are similar. Make a decision with confidence. Everything else follows. Sometimes I don’t know how or why but I give it all I’ve got once I make a decision.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I focus on teaching the FUNDAMENTALS of every day life skills. Whether this is how to use a hammer or how to build a fire, I use these skills to create unique learning opportunities. I am embarking on the adventure of teaching other instructors how to do the same!
I am passionate about families spending more time integrating these skills together!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
First and foremost Communication is absolutely key! Work on your communication so that you can build strong relationships with your community. Creativity is certainly impactful in that it gives me more avenues to pivot! However creativity needs to be balanced with systems!
My knowledge of the way different systems work has allowed me to utilize my skill set in a particular way. I am always learning and implement systems that make the most sense to me. This allows me to stay on track with my goals while also being creative with my community.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
Oh boy! This involves a story! Growing up I was in sports. If I lost I remember my parents asking me- are you getting paid? My answer would always be no. They would say – there’s really no reason to cry then. Then from there questions ensued of but did you learn a lesson? Yes-there was always a lesson.
With this small moment- I carry this through business!
Some days I may lose. But am I getting paid? In these moments often the answer is no-so look for the lesson!
