Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Khatija Dadabhoy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Khatija, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I’ve honestly found my purpose through my own pain and suffering. From a young age I wanted to help others because I experienced so much hurt and loneliness. I felt I understood their suffering, and maybe subconsciously I believed helping others would be a way to help myself. Through my life, I’ve experienced a great deal of unusually painful and difficult circumstances, and I’ve come to really understand that each of these experiences opened me more to my purpose. It has all solidified that I am here to alchemize pain into love and grace, and assist others in doing the same. I am becoming a master of that realm through so many experiences, and it’s the gift I can give others.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I assist others in their own personal experience of metamorphosis. I guide others in navigating their inner terrain, gaining capacity and internal resource, and ultimately applying those resources to alchemizing pain and trauma. I do this through a combination of counseling, coaching, teaching, and intuitive guidance. All of my work is done from a psychospiritual perspective and grounding. The main approach I utilize is an Integrative Somatic Internal Family Systems Model. Modalities and tools such as Reiki, HeartMath, breathing techniques, meditation, writing, astrology, tarot, somatic emotional processing, subconscious reprogramming, exploring and integrating shadow aspects, parts work, inner child work, metaphysics, and quantum field exploration might all be used depending on what is needed and appropriate for each client.
What is most exciting for me about this work is the latent potential available to each person when they are able to transmute their pain into gifts, grace, power, and wisdom. I also love using systems such as astrology, the gene keys, and tarot to help understand the soul story of a client and align my work with them to that unfolding.
I mainly work with clients one to one currently. I also write a column on Substack called Sweet Suffering. I have a journal and workbook available on my website that allows an individual to work through their unresolved past on their own. Some new group offerings are also in the works. The best way to know what’s currently being offered is to subscribe to my email list.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I believe one of my greatest qualities is my ability to presence, listen, and move into the world of the person I’m with. It transmits a true energy of understanding. Understanding the field of somatic tools and knowledge has been pivotal for me in relation to healing trauma and the nervous system. Combining that with parts work has been a game changer. I have seen the most change and healing in myself and my clients with these methods. The other area of knowledge that has made the greatest impact for me are systems of understanding such as astrology, gene keys, and intuitive tarot. I have come to understand my soul story in such a way that allows my whole life to make sense. It has allowed me to align with my purpose and gifts. Knowledge about our innate ability to heal and our true nature in that regard has been super impactful for me as well. I look to teachers like Dr. Joe Dispenza and systems such as German New Medicine for knowledge in this area. For anyone beginning their journey, I would suggest reading books on any of the above or taking courses. I did a lot of self directed learning as well. Just start anywhere that draws you and begin to explore.
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
When you feel you have a gift or service to offer to the world, it can be hard to recognize that without an effective business structure or financial skills, it may be difficult to give your gifts in a way that sustains you. I’ve had to really face the hard reality of the need to understand how to build a business and to learn marketing in a way that works for me. I have an abundance of skill and ability in providing my services, and it has been really challenging to build the necessary structure behind that. I had to have a moment of getting real with myself about what was necessary, and face my resistance around it if I want my work to be successful and reach more people. So, I’ve rolled up my sleeves and am finding the joy in learning these very necessary skills,
