Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Heather Powell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Heather, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
Learning from my family, peers and mentors. I watched them help those around them even with their own challenges. Optimism is the foundation of progress. It fuels hope in the face of challenges, allowing us to envision better outcomes when the present seems uncertain or unclear. My success (and failures), are rooted in a belief that setbacks are temporary, Optimism pushes all of us forward, encouraging resilience and creativity. In a world full of uncertainty, optimism helps us stay grounded and strive for growth.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I love helping people find their place in the world. Homes are our nests and refuge from the outside world. It’s where we rest, restore, host our families and friends and can be our truest selves. It is very rewarding to be a small part of someone’s experience.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
In today’s fast-paced and always-on world, tools like patience, perseverance, and resilience are crucial. As we juggle constant notifications and distractions, impacting our ability to truly listen and connect. We miss emotional cues and key details in conversations. By slowing down and practicing patience, we deepen our relationships, improve communication, and foster more meaningful connections. In the end, being present and resilient in the face of distractions strengthens both personal and professional bonds.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
One of my favorite questions to ask myself is what if it all works out? Look up! Look up at the sky, take a deep breath. Nothing is permanent, and it usually always works out.
