Meet Jaqueline Romero

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jaqueline Romero. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Jaqueline, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?

Being in the room, when I’m the only one who looks like me, varies because in a dental office, surrounded by people older than me, each with their own unique style and opinions, it can be challenging. I hold the belief that no matter how daunting, how unconventional, or how difficult the task, I will persevere. I see mediocrity as a state of contentment for those who are satisfied with their current situation, but for those of us with a vision for the future, we wake up each day determined to make a change, convinced that our future depends on it. To effect change in the world, one must be bold enough to believe in oneself and to act on that belief. This mindset is why I am where I am.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Ever since I noticed the profound impact something as simple and delicate as a smile can have on people’s daily lives, I’ve been driven to go above and beyond in my mission to truly help the community. This includes offering the best dental treatments, such as Smile designs, implant systems, and pain relief. At Acevedo Dental, we always strive to go the extra mile for our patients. Our practice is built on integrity, modesty, and a family-oriented approach, ensuring your journey is as smooth and painless as possible. So, the next time you’re in need, remember that Acevedo Dental truly cares.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities I hold that have made my journey possible are patience, courage, and perseverance. With these qualities, none of this would have been possible! All three have played an important role at some point in this journey, helping me stay grounded and finish the day, no matter how hard it became.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful lesson my dad ever taught me was to always keep your head held high, no matter how challenging the situation becomes, and to never give up. This mantra has truly resonated with me, and I live by it, always taking leaps of faith with my head held high.
