Meet Jesse Gariepy

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jesse Gariepy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jesse, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

My wife and boys have always loved traveling and exploring wherever we find ourselves. I’ve always dreamed of exploring our world on a full-time basis, but never knew how we could do it. Then I started watching Kara and Nate on YouTube and realized that our love of travel and adventures could be something others might enjoy experiencing along with us. I didn’t have any illusions that we could survive off of a YouTube channel anytime soon, but I realized that video creation and sharing our experiences was something I felt called to do and felt passionate about it! We’re now on a journey to see if our Adventure Family Vlog YouTube channel can become what other travel vlogger channels have achieved.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I love sharing our experiences through our YouTube channel, Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok to give others an idea of what they can do if they visit places we’ve been. We recently traveled to 9 countries in Europe, Florida to visit 4 Disney parks, all over Utah, California, the East Coast, and more, and we have so many more adventures planned for the future!

My intent with our social media is to share with the world and other families that you can travel and adventure regardless of your situation, even if it’s just to a town or city near yours.

St. Augustine once said, “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page”. I wholeheartedly believe that! There is so much to see and experience in this world that a lifetime of travel would still leave me wanting for more. Seeing all this world has to offer, the unique and interesting people we meet, and the adventures we have along the way are the most rewarding aspects of traveling every opportunity we get, whether it’s just down the road or to a country halfway around the world from us.

We’d love for anyone that’s curious about travel or passionate about exploring to join us on our adventures and connect with us (most importantly!) because we want to meet people and adventure through this life together!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three qualities I believe are important to the journey we’re on are patience, persistence, and passion. The YouTube journey is a marathon, not a sprint, for most people. There are some that I’d consider fortunate who hit it big right off the bat, but by and large it’s a long journey to reach your goals. You have to stick with it, regardless of how well or poorly things are going. And if you don’t have passion about what you’re doing, you’ll burn out and feel hopeless about it.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

We’re always open to collaborate and have partnered with a few entities thus far. We’re very interested in experiences and the travel arena. We love RV’ing and would jump on the opportunity to partner with a van life company if given the chance. But anything that entails an experience is our focus (hotel stays, travel destinations, etc.). If they’d like to collaborate they can reach us at adventurefamilyvlog1@gmail.com.
