Meet Kandyce Williams

We recently connected with Kandyce Williams and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kandyce, so excited to have you with us today, particularly to get your insight on a topic that comes up constantly in the community – overcoming creativity blocks. Any thoughts you can share with us?

I allow myself some time to be in that blocked space. Then I’ll go back and look at some of my old work, go to a museum, look at other forms of creative expression. I try not to force myself into creating, but allow it to come back naturally.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Kandyce Williams is a Los Angeles born and raised self taught artist, currently living in Dallas. Kandyce, whose moniker is KandyAppleTree, started tending to her inner artist at 16. She now thrives in fiber, decorative and digital arts. Her name embodies the spirit of her artwork: Kandy, is of course, short for Kandyce, while apple trees, the “trees of love” in Celtic astrology and other ancient mythology, symbolize love, creativity, and magic. Kandyce’s soul-feeding illustrations express the joy of giving and receiving love, while reflecting The Culture in each piece.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Dedication to your goal, patience with yourself, and the willingness to continue to learn. We hold more power in our own journey than we think.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’m looking for brick and mortar owners to collaborate with. My art is currently available for purchase in two stores in Dallas, but I’d love to have it available everywhere to everyone.
