We recently connected with Tashay Williams and have shared our conversation below.
Tashay, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
The resilience that I possess is from a collective of things. However, first I want to tap into the meaning of the word. When you break down the definition of resilience, you get the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness. I owe evey bit of resilience that I possess to my childhood. The difficult circumstances that I endured as a child over time helped me to be able to adapt quickly to uncomfortable situations. One thing that I can say, is that it made me tuff, and showed me that fulfilling my destiny was not going to be easy. If I could stay focus, dedicated, resilient, and motivated; I can achieve the unthinkable. My family taught me to be strong while also showing me great examples of what a strong, black, beautiful, woman looks like. So I want to thank my mom and everyone who ever encouraged me to follow my destiny.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Acting and modeling has been such an amazing journey. It’s a Rollercoaster ride that has its ups and downs for sure. However, the opportunities that I have been blessed with has made this journey worth it. More importantly, the people that I have networked with has made this journey a blessing. I have so much going on or getting ready to premiere by the end of the year. The start to the year, for me, was work, work, work. Now, some of the projects that I have been working on are ready to shared with the world. I have my first fashion show of the year coming up on October the 6th in the I AM ENOUGH Tea Party and Brunch. I am in a play called The Beauty Box 2 showing on October 19th. I have been working behind the scenes in the Houwood Series along side of Cayn who is preparing to release the much anticipated episode 4. Bars will be ready to premiere along side of The Undeserving by Elmore Visions in November. Also, Sundown by Eric Hunter and EDH MEDIA is ready to premiere as well. There are a few other projects that I can’t mention just yet. However, stay locked into my Instagram for more updates, ticket info, and premiere events that are coming soon.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
On this journey there were many things that impacted my jouney in a positive way. One of those things was my dedication to giving my best for every opportunity. Also, I am a firm believer in putting in the work. Going to class for acting and modeling to keep my knowledge and skills sharp in my craft has helped me to be ready for opportunities that present themselves. Last, knowing there will be plenty of No’s. But, all it takes is one yes. The advice I have for anyone early in the journey is to stay diligent and focused.
How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Well, since you asked! There is one particular challenge that I’m facing right now. I normally don’t talk much about myself as an artist musically because I don’t have allot of content with me singing, rapping, or vibing out with my band. However, I am in the process of releasing my first single. I have been working on this song diligently for a year now. It’s time to show the world another page of my book. Believe me, I’m so nervous, excited, grateful, optimistic, and hopeful for what’s to come. It’s been a challenge for me to release this song. I’m taking it day by day; and looking forward to the release in the spring of 2025.
