We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tracy Poizner. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tracy below.
Tracy, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
That is such a good question! I’m lucky to have a pretty high natural level of self-esteem but I’ve suffered all my life from an almost masochistic determination to challenge my confidence. If you’re wondering what that looks like, it started with quitting a top university program in mid-stream to see if I could make it as a symphony orchestra musician – starting virtually from scratch! I did make it, and I loved my career in classical music but I left it after 15 years to pursue my passion for the healing arts, and then, two decades into a successful homeopathy practice, I pivoted into BioEnergetics, Applied Kinesiology and archetypal psychology. I guess I just refuse to settle, especially when it comes to self-development. I know that there are no limits.
Repeatedly gambling on myself, with or without confidence in the outcome, has been key to bringing whatever I want into reality. While in my final year of school, and before even preparing the required material, I bought myself a plane ticket and signed up to do my very first orchestra audition. I was ready to pretty much fall on my face, but it all came together literally the night before the audition, and I won the job! A few years later, after marriage and a baby, I wanted to be closer to my family and I dreamed my perfect job into reality – I imagined a leadership position in an orchestra of high artistic integrity, located in a charming town outside the hustle of Toronto. Within days, I saw that exact opening advertised and just knew the job was mine and it came to be, against all odds. Then I went ahead and bought the first and only house I looked at – and it was so perfect, I’m still living in it 35 years later!
I eventually gave up a full-time permanent position in that orchestra to pursue a career in homeopathic medicine.
I think that regularly challenging my level of confidence is what allowed me to go out on a limb in creating my Botanical Alchemy technology. Actually, creating it was one thing, but daring to market it was another – it takes some nerve to announce to the world that you have a roadmap for faster, deeper healing as well as expanded consciousness and the achievement of legacy visions.
At the end of the day, my business and my personal legacy require me to uplevel my personal confidence and it’s probably no coincidence that I’m in the business of helping others to do the same. It’s not negotiable – as an entrepreneur, if I don’t do it, nobody will hear about me or benefit from what I have to offer.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I call myself a Botanical Alchemist – I create custom blends of energy medicines that are extremely good at accelerating all kinds of personal transformation from physical healing to spiritual growth and expansion of consciousness.
It might sound funny, but any talk of spirituality or consciousness was anathema to me until quite recently, and I even resisted the more esoteric forms of healing for almost 20 years as a homeopath. For me, homeopathy was medicine; it had to be scientific and all about data points and precision. It appealed to my analytic mind and I was really closed off about anything outside of that logical paradigm.
Slowly I had to accept the obvious truth that homeopathy itself is a purely energetic form of medicine, and whatever I had been resisting had to go if I really wanted to make a larger impact. When I finally learned Applied Kinesiology and brought muscle testing into my practice, everything took off for me!
My clients loved it, just as I’d always loved visiting my own practitioners who practised muscle testing, because the feeling in your body is undeniable. You know this is true, like it or not. So I just decided to get over myself and my fear of appearing flaky and watched my practice flourish along with my clients.
I’d known about the Bach Flower Essences since the start of my homeopathy studies back in the ’90’s, but unconsciously, I was deeply prejudiced against them because I thought they were too simplistic to possibly work at a really profound level. Then, I had a couple of experiences that really opened my eyes – I saw Bach Flowers producing results as good or better than a really well chosen homeopathic remedy, so I had to change my tune!
Some years ago, I was looking for business coaching online and I tripped over the concept of Shadow Alchemy which is a beautiful system for understanding and shifting consciousness via archetypal patterns of thoughts and beliefs. I became obsessed and studied intensively for about 2 years with Sonika and Naveed Asif of lushempires.com. At a certain moment, I was inspired to match the archetypes with the Bach Flower essences and Botanical Alchemy was born! I watched the new system become more and more clear, and as I describe this, I’m reminded of watching my dad slowly swirl photographic paper in a bath of liquid developer in his darkroom. The system developed itself until I saw a detailed roadmap for navigating the “Quantum” space, that infinitessimal moment between stimulus and response. That’s the space where everything is both good and bad at the same time, mirroring how things work in the subatomic world where everything is both a particle and wave until we observe it. This space is the theatre in which our ego places judgement and labels on what we perceive out in the world and it’s also where we lose our ability to see past the duality we just created! Botanical Alchemy is a unique technology in that it operates within this space and that makes it a missing link for most holistic and integrative health care practitioners.
I love working with high-achieving individuals who are curious about what lies beyond their current vision of what’s possible for them. I’m not interested in stoking anyone’s insatiable urge for fame or fortune – my ideal clients are people who want to flow in alignment with their highest calling, their soul purpose. This calling often seems so illogical or out of reach, it requires breaking past reliance on logic and limiting beliefs. Botanical Alchemy steps in here to support them in producing world-changing creations today and staggering legacies for the future.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
It’s hard to pinpoint what was most impactful because I’ve studied in depth with many different mentors over the years and they all contributed in significant ways that have built on each other. Finding the right mentors is essential – I reinvest in myself and my business constantly. Professional development is my top expense every year and I recommend that anyone who is starting out should hire a coach – your business *is* you, and it’s all *about* you. When you realize the truth of that, it becomes much easier to build.
Working towards something you feel called to do or create often doesn’t seem to make any sense. If your genius creation is way ahead of its time, you might never get any recognition for it and it can even seem like a flop. History is full of those stories – Nicola Tesla comes to mind right away, but there are many others. You have to ask yourself whether you’ll ever be truly happy settling for a sure path to success doing something that doesn’t really matter to you. If you want to play in the realm of higher consciousness and superhuman inspiration, you have to refuse to settle in all aspects of your life – there’s no wiggle room here. This often involves a new level of integrity in your personal life as well as your business, and a willingness to dance with risk and failure. Being a pioneer is not for the faint of heart!
My advice to people starting out is to think bigger right from the beginning and although many people might suggest growing a thick skin, I think about it another way. The goal is not to hold criticism at bay with a wall or a moat around your heart, it’s to become immune to feedback – on the inside. You are responsible for choosing what to make matter. Botanical Alchemy is great for helping innovators and entrepreneurs to stay focused on their own vision and to not be swayed by criticism or the results that others are getting.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I would love to partner with Functional Medicine doctors, Holistic Nurses, Chiropractors, Osteopaths and other high-level practitioners of the healing arts. My technology integrates beautifully with any root-level healing paradigm and can accelerate outcomes because it prepares the client energetically to accept the more material interventions like nutrition, supplements, manual adjustments and lifestyle changes.
I’d also love to meet with hosts and groups of individuals who are curious about spiritual technologies, interested in themes of accelerating evolution and/or expansion of potential. I’m always looking for guests for my own podcast and I’m eager to reach new audiences through public speaking and podcasts as well.
