Amelia , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

Five years ago, I hit rock bottom, and I had two choices to make: 1. Decide that I was never going to change my path in life, continue to create the same negative patterns and routines, and live a negative lifestyle, always chasing something, or 2. Pick myself up, learn from my mistakes, become honest with who I was on the inside, and start living a fulfilled life.

I chose the second option. I bought a journal and started writing down all of my feelings and emotions in it. This gave me the opportunity to understand why I am the way I am. I began to examine my life and make adjustments that would actually serve the growth of my future self.

I fell in love with listening to guided meditations for years and realized that it helped ground my body and soul to everything I wanted to be and become.

Years later, I began practicing my own guided meditations with friends and family until I realized that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I want to connect people with who they are internally and who they have the potential to become through meditation, journaling, and breath work.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My name is Amelia Mei, I am the founder of the breath work and meditation company, *Always by Amelia Mei*, a wellness influencer/ content creator, podcast host and an 2024 amazon publisher.

always by amelia mei is a meditation & breath work company that focuses on guiding individuals toward personal transformation and self-love through breathwork, meditation, and interactive wellness experiences. The brand’s purpose is to create spaces where people can heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. Through thoughtfully curated events, workshops, and daily practices, always. empowers individuals to build self-awareness, inner strength, and emotional well-being.

Through the Waves Podcast, is a wellness-focused show that dives deep into personal growth, self-love, and healing. Each episode features inspiring conversations with thought leaders, wellness experts, and individuals who have transformed their lives and share their journey with their community. The podcast explores the “waves of life’s” challenges and triumphs, offering listeners valuable tools and insights to navigate their own journeys toward wellness and fulfillment. In the summer of 2024, I published my first-ever 365 Daily Self-Love Journal on Amazon called “always daily self love journal”. This journal is deeply personal, as it contains the exact daily prompts that I’ve been using for years on my self-love journey—prompts that helped transform my life. The journal is designed to guide readers in fostering self-awareness, building inner strength, and cultivating a sense of love and acceptance through daily reflection and intentional practice. It offers a year-long journey toward greater self-love, just as it did for me.

As a content creator on social media (@ameliarmei) , I focus on promoting wellness, self-love, and personal growth. My content includes a mix of inspirational posts, breath work and meditation practices, tips for cultivating self-love, and my daily life. I strive to build a supportive community around wellness and self-discovery.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back at the beginning of my wellness journey, I think the top three skills and qualities that made a powerful impact were:

1, Self-awareness: After 19 years of being extremely disassociated from my present and lacking self-awareness, I realized I didn’t want to continue down the path I was on. Becoming obsessed with finding my self-awareness became addictive because the better I felt within my mind, body, and soul, the more it made me hyper-fixated on how I could continue growing in my self-development.

2. Empathy: I believe that if I hadn’t taken the time to understand and show empathy toward who I was and why I was the way I was at the beginning of my journey, I would have continued to live an unfulfilled life. I also think showing empathy to others allows us to connect on a deeper level and understand that we are all so similar, and everyone has their own path.

3. A fast bounce-back rate: When I realized that the only person who could fully decide to live a life filled with fulfillment, joy, and happiness was myself, being able to bounce back into who I wanted to be completely changed the direction of my life.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

There have been two constant tools that have helped me overcome every challenge life has brought:

1. Meditation & breathwork: It is the core of my everyday routine. It’s the first thing I do in the morning as soon as my eyes open. Meditation has provided a grounding foundation for the person I strive to be daily, becoming the center of my life. It allows me to find presence in situations that would otherwise cause chaos in my day.

2. Journaling: There is something so special and sacred about taking time for yourself, whether it’s a daily practice or something you do once a year. Connecting with your thoughts on paper is incredibly powerful, whether it’s for healing, manifesting, or simply checking in with yourself internally.
