Meet Daniel Bell

We recently connected with Daniel Bell and have shared our conversation below.

Daniel, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

My optimism comes mostly from having confidence in myself, in the industry I’m in as far as business optimism goes, and ultimately my faith in God. A lot of that was developed from the small things that I was able to do successfully growing up whether it was in sports or school that helped me trust my own ability to adjust as things change and do what needs to be done. As far as business goes, being able to see how much opportunity there is in the financial world, and seeing other examples of success at a high level from people who weren’t much different from me was also a huge boost for consistently staying optimistic about the future. Ultimately though as I mentioned, being a Christian, even if nothing in life works out, there’s always a promise of a life after this one, so one way or another, there’s too much to look forward to to not be optimistic.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

So I do financial planning on the personal and business finance side of things and I run a financial workshop called The Witty Wealth Workshop. Specifically, I want to talk about The Witty Wealth Workshop, it’s a financial education workshop on both the personal and business finance side of things. I bring in guest speakers from all the different veins of personal finance and host the workshop via Zoom so that people from all over the US can tune in and learn more about the world of finance as well as connect with professionals who can be a resource when they actually need the help. The mission of it all is to educate on finance and motivate toward improvement so that people can ultimately live out the ideal lifestyle that they’ve always envisioned, which is what I help them put into more actionable steps on the financial planning side of things.

I would say I’m the most excited about the growth in my workshop, the collaborative opportunities coming out of it, and just the extent to which I’m able to connect with and help more people! Although there are no huge announcements just yet but coming into 2025 we definitely will have some new initiatives launching with the workshop so stay tuned and follow the journey on our Instagram @the_wwworkshop.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I would say quality-wise at least personality for me being previously more of an introverted person I can really appreciate the opportunity to get to know people and how it feels to demonstrate you care about someone’s circumstances and what they’re dealing with. It’s definitely given me perspective! Skill-wise would be relationship building, not just networking and handing out business cards but actually building real connections and relationships with people in the business world and fostering those relationships to create business, collaboration, and opportunity for yourself, the other person, and the people around you is what it’s all about. Lastly, technical knowledge of course is a must, you have to have an idea of what you’re talking about and it’s through understanding that you then know the right questions to ask in any industry or field.

For others, I would say to get out there, meet people, and ask questions. Try not to be the talkative one in the conversation, get the other person to talk. Go into conversations with a focus on how you can bring value to the other person, get THEM connected, create collaboration, and find ways to partner rather than trying to sell something. And finally, hit the books! Read, study, attend seminars, and strive to understand your field better than anyone else in the industry!

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

So it depends, when I’m talking about financial planning I’m mainly looking for people who are married, at least 25 years old or older, have kids, own a home, and make about 150k plus household income whether it be in business or through their job. But I’m happy to work with people who make less or don’t fit one of those characteristics if they’re motivated to make changes! Generally, I find that there are key instances when people absolutely should have a conversation about finances and those are:
– When you get engaged/married/divorced
– Have a kid/become pregnant
– Buy a house
– Sell a house or larger asset
– Have a lump sum of money/inheritance
– Get their first job/switch jobs/planning to retire
– Experiencing a lot of growth in their position or business

Now on the workshop side of things, I generally look to connect with business owners, communities, groups, organizations, etc, people that have a group or team that they may want to provide some level of education to their team’s benefit. However, the monthly workshops are open to anyone and everyone anywhere in the US!
