Meet Liv Hanna

We were lucky to catch up with Liv Hanna recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Liv with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I got my work ethic from my parents 100%. Both of my parents work incredibly hard to support and provide for me and I admire their commitment and dedication to their jobs. I will always look up to them and the work ethic they demonstrate each day.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

New York native Liv Hanna is a 21-year-old singer-songwriter and recording artist. She is currently based in Miami, FL. Hanna began voice and piano lessons at the age of eight and began songwriting at the age of 12. The songbird carries a tool kit laden with emotional angst, fermented in Pop, Alt-Pop, Dark Pop, and Pop Rock sensibilities. Known for her expansive vocal range and clever, resonating songwriting, Liv Hanna has garnered attention from countless media outlets such as the Metropolitan Magazine, Rolling Stone IN, RTÉ, EARMILK, CelebMix, BroadwayWorld, and BuzzFeed. Hanna continues to write, record, and release and has many exciting projects coming up!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think patience, determination and having a goal were the three most important qualities impacting my success. I think when you have a goal you immediately have the motivation to work for it and get yourself to that point as quickly as possible. However, I’ve come to learn the only way to get there is to have patience and determination to keep at it every single day whether you see success or not. Getting discouraged and pausing the progress won’t advance you and you’ll never know how close you were to your goal if you stop. Consistency is also key in success. I treat my music and myself as a brand and I am the brand strategist. I create content and post consistently, whether I see traction or not. I know if I keep singing and releasing and sharing my music, my engagement will eventually increase in time. It’s all about locking into your work and the small steps needed to achieve your goal. Keep your head down and do what you need to do and don’t look outwards for praise or approval. Success will come if you practice this.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I would love to connect with any kind of producers, rappers, artists, photographer, graphic designers, website design individuals and honestly anyone who identifies as a creativity. I absolutely love networking in the creative industry and meeting amazingly talented individuals. I would also look to collaborate with any artists or producers in the dark/alt/indie pop/pop rock/dance pop genre to bounce off ideas and soundscapes.
