We were lucky to catch up with Kashie Johnson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kashie, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I developed my confidence and self-esteem through a combination of self-reflection and setting achievable goals.
I began by identifying my strengths and weaknesses, which helped me focus on areas for growth. Setting small, attainable goals allowed me to experience success and gradually build my confidence.
I also learned the importance of positive self-talk and reframing negative thoughts.
Additionally, I actively engage in things I enjoy, which not only boosts my self-esteem but also provides a sense of accomplishment.
Overall, I view each experience as an opportunity for growth, which has significantly contributed to my confidence.”
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The qualities and skills that were most impactful in my journey were consistency, punctuality and having a visionary outlook on things.
My advice for those early in their journey is to start by setting clear, achievable goals.
Break larger objectives into smaller, manageable tasks to build consistency over time. Establishing a routine can help create habits that reinforce discipline!
Additionally, cultivate a visionary outlook by regularly reflecting on your long-term goals and values. Keep a vision board or journal to track your progress and remind yourself of your aspirations. Surround yourself with inspiring mentors and peers who can provide guidance and accountability… Lastly, be patient with yourself; improvement takes time, and learning from setbacks is essential for growth.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
A book that has significantly impacted my development is “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen R. Covey.
One of the most valuable insights from the book is the concept of being proactive rather than reactive, which emphasizes taking responsibility for one’s actions and choices. This shift in mindset has empowered me to focus on what I can control, rather than getting bogged down by external circumstances.
Another key takeaway is the importance of prioritizing tasks based on their urgency and significance, rather than just reacting to what’s immediately in front of me. This has helped me manage my time more effectively and focus on long-term goals.
Finally, Covey’s principle of “seeking first to understand, then to be understood” has enhanced my communication skills and relationships, as it encourages active listening and empathy in interactions.
Overall, these lessons have greatly influenced my approach to both my personal and professional life.
