Meet Laron Gigger

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Laron Gigger. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Laron below.

Hi Laron, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

“I’ve been dancing, performing, and creating my whole life, which has prepared me for my career as a professional dancer, skater, and influencer. But I wasn’t always as confident as I am now. Growing up, I struggled with low self-esteem and was bullied throughout school. After being forced out of the closet in high school, I had to embrace who I was and stop letting others define me. Eventually, it wasn’t just classmates hating on me anymore—I was getting hate on a larger scale. But the unconditional love and support from my followers outweighed all of that. Dancing, skating, and sharing my videos online gave me the motivation and confidence boost I needed. I’ve garnered a fanbase of real people who genuinely love me for who I am and want to see me win. I’ve stopped caring about the negativity and decided to live life unapologetically, express myself fully, and show the world my undeniable talent. I’d be lying if I said there weren’t days when I don’t feel like myself, but it’s the resilience, perseverance, and determination to be successful that keep me going even on my worst days.“

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

“I’m a professional rollerskater, dancer, and content creator, and I’ve built a brand that blends performance, creativity, and self-expression. Skating has become the foundation of my career, but it’s more than just a sport to me—it’s an art form and a way to connect with people around the world. I’ve created an entirely new lane for myself within the skate community by blending different styles and staying true to my unique journey, learning and incorporating various skating techniques while remaining distinctive. What makes it special is how it allows me to showcase my personality, sensuality, and passion in a way that resonates with others.

Right now, I’m excited to be the official brand ambassador for Fahrenheit Skates, a London-based company launching in 2025. Being a part of their journey from the ground up is an incredible opportunity. I’m also proud to be premiering my show, Roller Jam, on Max (formerly HBO Max) on October 10th. It’s a roller-skating competition that brings together some of the best talent in the skating world, and I can’t wait for people to see what we’ve been working on.

Moving forward, I want to get back to my roots and dive deeper into dancing again. I see myself working in the industry—choreographing, performing in music videos, and bringing my skills to larger stages. I also plan to open a dance studio and skating rink, combining my two passions, and embarking on new business ventures through my company, LaronBest LLC. My goal is to continue pushing boundaries, whether through collaborations, performances, or social media, and to keep inspiring others to live freely, embrace their individuality, and follow their passions. My crew, Haus of Sk8, is also something close to my heart, and together, we’re creating a movement that’s about more than skating—it’s about community, love, and expression.”

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

“Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been resilience, adaptability, and authenticity.

Resilience has been key because, in any creative or public-facing career, you’re going to face rejection, criticism, and setbacks. You have to keep pushing through the tough times and trust the process, even when things get hard. My advice is to develop a thick skin early on and remind yourself why you started. Keep going, no matter what.

Adaptability has also been crucial. The worlds of skating, dancing, and social media are constantly evolving, and staying flexible has helped me stay relevant. Whether it’s learning new styles, adjusting to different platforms, or finding new ways to express myself, being open to change has made all the difference. My advice is to always stay curious and never get too comfortable—growth happens outside of your comfort zone.

Lastly, authenticity has allowed me to stand out. People are drawn to what’s real, so my advice is to be yourself, no matter what. Don’t try to fit into what’s popular or what’s expected. Stay true to your vision, your voice, and your passion. The right people will gravitate toward you when you’re genuinely yourself.”

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

“When I feel overwhelmed, I prioritize taking a break from social media and anything that isn’t serving me. Social media can be draining, toxic, and sometimes overstimulating, so I believe everything should be done in moderation.

I find that praying, meditating, and manifesting my goals are essential strategies for maintaining a clear mind, especially as someone in the public eye. Taking time to recharge and reflect helps me reconnect with myself and regain my focus. I also recommend creating a self-care routine that includes activities that nourish your spirit and mind—whether it’s spending time in nature, journaling, or simply enjoying a quiet moment.

In addition, surrounding myself with a close circle of friends and family who genuinely love and support me is crucial. It’s important to keep those who want to see you win, rather than envy you, in your life. After all, you are who you hang around. Listening to your body and mind when they signal that you need a break is vital, so don’t hesitate to step back and prioritize your well-being.”
