Meet Crimson Overtone

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Crimson Overtone. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Crimson below.

Crimson, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

There is never a lack of inspiration if you keep yourself open to it. That inspiration may come from people we admire, from nature, from mental or spiritual processes, or even just from sitting down and playing until something piques our interests. The band also tries to make time to listen to music outside of our genre to help inspire variety in our work as well. We all have such a wide range of musical influences and experiences, which helps us push each other to try new things and experiment with new ideas – keeping the creativity alive!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Crimson Overtone is a female-fronted metal band from Marietta, GA, combining authentic lyricism with a theatrical, high-energy stage show to create a musical experience that will resonate with people from all walks of life. Crimson Overtone originally met in a 12-Step program, but quickly discovered a shared passion for music and advocacy. Since their formation, the band has toured across the country, inspiring audiences with their music and their stories while amassing a small but dedicated fanbase. They caught the attention of Resurrection Records at the beginning of 2024 and signed shortly after, increasing their reach on radio, streaming, and social platforms.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Together we have a very wide range of professional, musical, and educational experience. These skills and knowledge have definitely served as advantages in very many aspects of our journey. The versatility of our team, stemming from each individual’s unique background, is one of the greatest qualities of our band.

Though not every group will have members so starkly different from one another as ours does, every aspiring band does need to learn how to play on each others’ strengths and cover for each others’ weaknesses. Ultimately it comes down to healthy communication and genuinely caring for the people in the group, which is developed by spending time together, doing life together, and making the effort to be there for the people just as much (if not more than) you are for the music. When the relationships are healthy, the music is tight.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Our music is purposed to identify with and encourage folks struggling through life’s various questions and challenges, in a way that only music can do. We share our experiences, victories, challenges and struggles specifically under the context of the goodness of God through the truth of the Bible in the midst of impossible circumstances, even if we cannot grasp or understand it completely. We want to connect with others possessing the same heart in hopes to reach more people in more ways with the hope and encouragement they need that we have collectively experienced.

We specifically would love to connect with folks who want to collaborate on music, who want to book shows, who are looking for bands to work with/sponsor, or who are looking for someone to produce their music – regardless of genre. We are always happy to share a song with other talented individuals and we would love to bring our unique live show to people who are looking for good music and powerful stories!
