We were lucky to catch up with Nikki Jordan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nikki, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I have always felt a sense of purpose from an early age, or at least a broad understanding of it. My dream was to become a middle school math teacher. At that pivotal stage in life, children are at a crossroads, starting to determine the type of person they wish to become, and I wanted to be the guiding force that helps them find their way. However, as I grew older and entered college, fear took hold and I began to shy away from my purpose. It was my best friend Alysha who helped illuminate my path again and guided me back toward my true calling.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My company is called Confidence At Any Size, also known as CAAS (pronounced cause). We are dedicated to empowering women and young adults to embrace self-confidence and inner beauty. My company embodies more than mere confidence in physical stature; it also signifies confidence in your current life stage. Regardless of where you find yourself in life, if you can embrace that confidence, it will serve as the driving force to propel you into your next chapter.
Our mission is to establish a safe space for individuals to come together, boost their confidence, and discover how to foster positive relationships with one another.
Our vision is to help individuals achieve lasting success through mastering the skill of cultivating positive relationships. My company offers a variety of services including: public speaking, facilitating events that promote self-love, workshops, and mentoring.
Additionally, CAAS is expanding into educational spaces, offering professional development programs in schools to foster confidence and personal growth among students and educators.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Faith, resilience, and confidence. Starting a business is truly a journey of faith; each day is uncertain, and you may wonder if your strategies will succeed. It’s crucial to trust that the One who set you on this path will guide you through it. This brings us to resilience—you must be prepared to rise each day and work just as diligently, if not more so, than the previous day, regardless of past challenges or external circumstances. Lastly, confidence is vital; you need to believe that you were meant for this. Even in a crowded field, your unique perspective is something the world needs. Stand firm in that belief every single day, and in time, things will shift in your favor.
For those just starting their journey, my advice is to seek out a coach or mentor. Having someone to navigate the minefields of business can help you avoid the many pitfalls they faced along the way.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client has a growth-oriented mindset and is open-minded, eager for feedback and new methods to improve communication and emotional intelligence. They may struggle with relationships in personal or professional settings and seek guidance to enhance these connections. I also target professionals aiming to improve teamwork and collaboration at work, as well as leaders or aspiring leaders who recognize the importance of relationship-building for effective leadership and networking.
