We recently connected with Miriam Salgado and have shared our conversation below.

Miriam, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
When I started my photography business back in 2013 I had to do all by myself… I learned how to do a website, a blog and even how to get exposure online using social media and SEO. So when I realized the struggle many other business entrepreneurs with no marketing background experience, I knew I had to share my knowledge to help them to grow their businesses.

I got the idea of starting a Podcast from my husband, which then triggered the offering of online courses, as soon as people started to get more and more interested in my topics.

When I started the Podcast, many people came to me saying they were super happy to learn about marketing, photography, video and social media through this medium. We then launched our first webinar and online course of “Instagram for entrepreneurs” having a great success with more than a thousand alumni online.

This is how and when I knew this was my purpose.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Bossmomcoach has been my baby since 2018… when the pandemic happened we launched our Bootcamps online, teaching people around the world about marketing, video, photography and social media. It has been an amazing journey. We connected with many entrepreneurs in countries like Mexico, Spain, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Argentina and many more.
Right now the Podcast is heard in more than 30 countries!!! We started a Networking group in Tampa with workshops in the area and around Orlando. We  have Bootcamps every two months and collaborations with other brands to help entrepreneurs build a business for them and their families.

We have the ambition to continue this path and participate at more and more events, conferences and online matters to help as many entrepreneurs as possible in growing their businesses.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I have a degree in Marketing and 13 yrs of photography experience. I also started to work with social media very early. I learnt how to use social media to attract clients and not just followers. This helped me grow faster than the competition as well as speaking different languages, which is a great advantage.

I am always learning something new, different ways to edit, to record, to post, to create videos, to do business, etc… it’s something I always recommend to my clients. LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY!!!

Also surround yourself with people you admire, people that already know how to walk “that path”. Ask for advice and always, always be humble.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
I was diagnosed with RA the past year… I was struggling with pain in my hands, and actually my whole body… for many months I did physical therapy, exercises and even had to reduce the amount of work… but of course I needed more than that. It has been very hard to reduce the work, to focus on my health, trying to eat healthier and do more exercise… trying to reduce the amount of work and stress… well, I can tell you it has been quite a ride and I feel BETTER now and I learnt HOW TO be healthy and do my job in the best way I can, which is what my clients deserve!

I took six months just for myself, I stopped everything… I didn’t work, or post on social media and guess what? After that time I got much better, not just physically, but I have a stronger mental health now as well.
