We were lucky to catch up with Lioness Telaine recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lioness, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism I believe came from my upbringing. I was instilled with many values and integral morals in my childhood. I was a part of so many community-related initiatives, and over time, it built character, emotional intelligence, and strong mental awareness.
I grew up seeing the women in my family make miracles and turn nothing into something. It molds you to have an unwavering faith and an optimistic attitude. I saw the difference it made in life. I experienced the results early on how it was to behave integrally or be pessimistic in life and get counterproductive results.
I knew the type of woman I wanted to be as a child and I knew that whoever I became, I would live with light, love, and enlightenment.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a film producer and director based in Dallas, Texas. I’ve recently just executive produced my directorial debut, a sci-fi franchise called, Dynasty The Movie. Dynasty is starring American renowned rapper, Lil Flip, a native of Houston, and is said to be one the first sci-fi films produced in Dallas.
The film will be released in early 2025 in theaters and streaming platforms.
In the interim, I’ve also worked with other leading industry entertainers such as international recording artist Gucci Mane, and Blac Chyna, and worked on red carpets at the 2024 BET Experience.
My focus is all things production in film, video podcasts, commercials, and live events. I also own and operate a production studio, TeLaine Studios 7, which offers services such as pre-post production, talent management, and educational workshops for the youth who are inspired to work in entertainment.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back I would probably have to say patience, consistency, and relationships were most impactful in my journey.
When you’re starting in your journey and as you progress, you realize that relationships have the most impact on your journey. Relationships are the vessels of the Universe. They are the channels and sources. Nurturing your professional and personal relationships is so vital because you never know who knows who, and who you know is important when navigating and growing in your professional journey.
Consistency is an overlooked and underappreciated virtue, yet is imperative to getting anywhere and doing anything. It takes consistency to be successful in anything. That’s why your life is to be perceived as a journey because it is. The journey will always require consistency to harvest results, especially long-term ones. Consistency is a universal law and is seen in nature. The seasons are consistent, and the Sun, moon, and stars are consistent. Our DNA and the makeup of our physical bodies are consistent. Our breath is consistent. We must apply this same law to our daily lives.
Patience goes without saying. It is most certainly a value that no one wants to have in the process. Most people want to skip this virtue and rush toward a destination that doesn’t exist yet. They’d rather skip ahead and miss out on all of the lessons, experiences, people, and enlightenment gained on the way. This is why patience is necessary. It builds character and understanding so that as we experience more in life and we reach these various pentacles in life, we know how to handle them, protect them, expand them, nurture them, and finance them. That all comes ith patience and embracing the process.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
I feel overwhelmed when my plate of duties is full. Being overwhelmed is an uncomfortable feeling and can bring me down if I don’t balance my responsibilities.
Prioritizing duties, tasks, and responsibilities is a must so that I don’t burn myself out or experience a great deal of anxiety.
I typically only accept tasks that I know for sure I will be able to complete. I prioritize and organize accordingly, prioritize rest, and don’t take on too much.
Also, a lot of overwhelming energy comes from when we are not present. If we don’t enjoy what we’re doing, the project or task will feel overwhelming. It will make us feel uncomfortable and uneasy. Make sure you’re heart is in everything that you do.
