Meet Phoenix Rodríguez

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Phoenix Rodríguez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Phoenix , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I developed my self esteem and confidence by realizing that this is my life and if i have to life it worrying about what other people think of me, i’d rather just not live at all.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am a music producer and i am willing to work for anyone and everyone. I started making music around 2019 on a app called Soundtrap. Originally, i only wanted to do it for fun but one year my best friend talked me into buying Fl Studio to make beats on. I bought that and then bought a Akai MPK Mini. I started getting serious around 2021 but i quit because i didn’t think i was good enough. I then started making beats again around 2023 and since then, I haven’t thought about quitting, Only moving forward.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The first skill i believed that i had was the creativity. Growing up, No matter what toys, games, or other things i had, i knew how to make myself or other people entertained or happy. My second skill and or quality is being able to make beats nonstop and have motivation to keep doing them. My final skill is being able to network and connect with people. I always had no problem talking to others and i had no problem bonding with people and making connections.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

I feel overwhelmed when bad things are going on in my life but then i realize that it’s only temporary. Pain lasts temporary, Good times will come and take over.
