Meet Jade Renee

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jade Renee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi JADE, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?

Being an entrepreneur for over a decade, I was always more committed to growing my business than I was to my self care. That reflected in the choices I made in my personal life, my body and my overall well-being as a woman and CEO. It wasn’t until recently within the past 2 years that I realized I had to put myself and my self-care first in order to thrive in every other area of my life including business. I couldn’t continue to pour from a half nor empty glass if I was going to continue my entrepreneurial journey so I dedicated those 2-3 years to learning what I truly needed to become as sufficient and confident as possible. In my early 20’s, I used to think self care was simply going to the nail salon for a nice pedicure or getting my hair done, etc. Now as a 30 year old agency founder, self-care is my absolute main priority. It’s more than just the outer appearance for me, it all starts within. I take my vitamins daily, I eat quality meals, I put up rock solid boundaries, I say no a lot (which is huge for me), I choose/value myself and say my affirmations daily, I pray often and ground myself, I regulate my nervous system through low impact exercises such as walking 5 miles a day and breathing techniques, I spend a lot of time in nature, I journal my feelings often instead of sharing with others, I have a skincare routine that I love, I only drink water and tea, I enjoy my daily sauna sessions, I love yoga and meditation practices, I read personal development books and listen to high level podcasts. The list goes on. I really pour into myself now more than ever and I stay committed to that daily because if I don’t take care of me then I can’t take care of my agency and certainly can’t pour into my employees. And on my bad days or when I’m feeling down, I commit to self care even more. I make sure to do at least 2-3 things that I mentioned and that always makes me feel better.

This shift in my self care perspective has dramatically changed my life over the past 2-3 years. The more I care for myself, the better my life is becoming. The better my thoughts are and the better my relationships (family, friends, romantic) are. And more importantly, I’m becoming an even better CEO and leader. My self care regimens have significantly impacted my effectiveness in all areas of my life. I’m seeing the quality of my life improve in ways I could never imagine and I encourage all entrepreneurs and women in general to find things that ground you and bring you peace. That is how you create your ideal self care routines.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The 3 most important qualities needed in entrepreneurship is first and foremost, faith. This journey requires the upmost, unwavering faith in God and a bullet proof belief in yourself. There will be times when you are only left with your faith and that alone is more than enough to get you to the next goal. The second quality would be the ability to execute; as in actually doing the things you say you want to do. Faith without work is dead. In order to continue to succeed, you need to consistently execute your ideas, plans and goals. Success comes to those that go and get it, not those who wait around for it. The third quality would be consistency because great things take time and never giving up is the only way to get there. You must ask yourself can you continuously show up for weeks, months, years without seeing results? I am also a firm believer in being consistent in all areas of your life, not just business. And in order to truly be consistent in your business, you must master it in your personal life.

An honorable mention is to have a vision because the vision for your life needs you to have faith which requires you to be consistent and execute your ideas.

My advice for entrepreneurs who are in the early phases of their journey is to simply stay the course. Actively seek wisdom and knowledge of Self and in business. The more you grow in your personal life, it will indeed reflect in your business. Start small if you have to, for example, start being consistent with making your bed. Start executing by making daily to do list and faith must be built daily. Allow yourself 30 days to reprogram your mind with these new tools then aim for 90 days, then 6 months, etc. Start small but whatever you do, just start.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

I have always strongly believed that I will never be in the same position I was in 12 months prior. Wether that is mentally, physically, professionally, etc., I measure my years by exactly where I was 365 days ago. My biggest area of growth this year has been with my mindset, my routine and regulating my nervous system. I’m constantly elevating my mind by doing the inner work (addressing childhood traumas, unlearning/re-learning/etc) and unblocking my limiting beliefs because their simply is no ceiling to where I want to go nor what I want to do. I’ve spent a dramatic amount of time learning how to regulate my nervous system so that I can show up for myself and my business in the most healthiest way. I’ve refined and improved my daily routine as a CEO tremendously by putting my health first, including more family time and establishing work life balance as best as possible. This has easily been my best year yet with these improvements alone.
