Meet Hannah Murphy

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hannah Murphy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Hannah with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I get my string work ethic from my parents. My mom came from a trades household that encouraged my dad to follow in suite once he became apart of the family. My dad owned his own business for forever and it encouraged me to one day want to own my own business!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My story is mainly focused on a small business trying to make everyone feel their best. Beauty by Hannah Elise offers lash extensions, lash lifts and tints, brow services, and bridal services. I love my time both in the studio as well as out on the road doing bridal services. I mainly focus on natural looking services. Enhancements that make you feel great but still feel like you.

I’m currently nominated for Kansas City Engaged’s Couple’s Choice Awards in BOTH categories for Bridal hair and makeup!! I’m so excited and voting ends Oct. 18th and the award ceremony is on Nov. 7th!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three of the most important things I’ve learned along the way is find a great mentor, work/home balance is sooo important, and network, network, NETWORK!!

Having an amazing mentor has helped my confidence grow like crazy. My mentor has helped me with any business problem I’ve had. I owe so much of my business to them!

Making sure you don’t get burnt out or tired is so important. It’s still a consent battle for me today!! I love my work and my clients but making sure I’m my best self for them and you is really what makes my work so much better.

And finally I love love love networking!! I’ve been able to meet so many people and other business owners that inspire me to do better each day!!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am always looking for people to collaborate! I find meeting new businessmen and women and learning from them is what pushes me to be a better business owner as well!!

I’m always looking to do styled shoots with anyone in the wedding industry. Or even giveaways or collaborating with other stylists. I hope I can work with more amazing vendors!
