Meet Allaina Maria

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Allaina Maria. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Allaina below.

Allaina, so great to have you on the platform and excited to have you share your wisdom with our community today. Communication skills often play a powerful role in our ability to be effective and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your communication skills.

I am a consumer and use services daily that requires me to communicate with others. One of the biggest complaints with dealing with companies is poor customer service. I don’t care how good or bad the product is, poor communication or lack thereof can tank a business. I adopted the personal policy to learn through all things, be it good or bad. Dealing with poor customer service, I learned how I did not want to be or make my consumers feel when communicating with them. I am my own brand, and I want to make sure that I am putting out the best version of myself. I make it a point to consider my clients/consumers and put myself in their shoes. How would I want to be communicated with? Adopting that practice, I am able to authentically connect with my audience because I too am them.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am Allaina Maria, actress, screenwriter, multi- genre author, singer/songwriter international motivational speaker and CEO of Allaina Maria 360, LLC where I provide 360 entertainment services. I am humbled and yet excited for the opportunity to wear the many hats. I love all things within the arts. I am the author of a 10-part Healing from journal series, urban fiction novel, “Mariah”, a two-part children’s book series, “Cir the Circle” and have written for multiple anthologies. I have had the privilege to speak throughout the United States and abroad in Botswana, Africa. I am a singer/songwriter who has sung only many stages and albums. I have recently began acting and the journey has been challenging yet rewarding. As a result, my novel, “Mariah” is the process of being turned into a major motion film.

My goal is to utilize every gift God has given me and share it with the world. My goal is to uplift, encourage, entertain and educate the reader/viewer/hearer through my interpretation of the arts in many forms.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Humility: Talent is good, but a haughty spirit will only let you get so far. I want to make sure that my art is authentic, and my vibes can be felt through the screen, the pages of the book or on the screen. Staying humble and teachable will let you in doors that otherwise may not have been available all because you remained humble.

2. Self-belief: Becoming an entrepreneur can be scary. When beginning to start new ventures, self-doubt is sure to make her grand appearance. It is vitally important to believe in you. You must not let other’s words detour you from becoming all that YOU desire to be.

3. Money management: It is important to not allow the dollars to overtake you. YEs, more money is good, but it is also important to balance. Make sure to invest in yourself/brand and save. ITs healthy to enjoy the fruit of your hard work, but always being mindful of how your dollars work for you.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

The most helpful and impactful person in my life is my mother, Annette L. Anderson. I know it sounds cliche’, but it is my truth. When I decided to launch Allaina Maria 360 LLC, she was the first person to support me. every book I wrote she purchased. Every speaking engagement she is there. Every movie set I am on she makes sure I can get there. There is absolutely nothing that I do she doesn’t lend her support. When I get overwhelmed, she helps me refocus and get back on track. Entrepreneurship is hard work, but with an amazing support system I am able to continue on. Thank you, mom, for everything!
