Meet Mike Clark

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mike Clark a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Mike , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

It was through my art and music. I was very young. I was in elementary school. I remember drawing seascapes and my teachers would take these pictures and use them at different shows. I realize I had talent and I used to draw action pictures of martial art, movies, and sell them for nickel And junior high school I went to my very first party with dj and lights and atmosphere and the Moore went the more I got drawn into that whole scene atmosphere I eventually wanted to become DJ about the time I was 14 or 15. I was DJing backyard parties for my friends and basement parties, but it was in high school as I really started seeing this path and my generation being the ones to create the electronic music scene. I realize that this is probably my path and purpose as everything related to that fell into my lap, and I was able to accomplish things doing this than anything else, I realize that this was my purpose for it brings out my spirituality and peace.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I learned through personal experiences and martial arts to maintain a balance in my life for my own sanity happiness. I also learned to project positivity to receive positivity such as what I’m doing my craft and I’m playing out. We’re making a track. I’ll make sure that my mindset is right to send out positivity and happiness so you can see and hear the joy. I do believe what we record whatever emotions we have it is sent out and people grab that energy name. My company is Agent X Productions and strictly beat down recordings.. I have new music coming out as well as a new release that just came out on shadow recordings a label in Europe from the legendary producer Dj Jimpster the song is entitled in the house Club I’m excited about this release and happy but the label is on as I support a lot of music and I have another one coming out at the end of the year called. I don’t know why with Paul Hill from Parliament funkadelic as the singer and writer of the lyrics on it!! if you come to Detroit on any given time, I may be DJing at any of the clubs have resident at tv bar but I also frequently play at Spotlight and marble bar and speaker box. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

You must stay consistent with your work.
It pays to keep your skills tight, make it into muscle memory
Is perfectly fine to compare your work with others such as those you admire most and even though you don’t because you want to pay attention to your work and see how to fits with your audience, your audience is most important because they pay you and they let you know how you sound and where you’re at Out here in society.
Always listen to your heart and trust your instincts because that is you

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

as a DJ producer of 40 years times change evolution happens and you find yourself in the constant challenge in your craft and your work and because of the time in this field of entertaining, it gets more difficult to get the gigs as more more DJ producers pop up in your Constantly maintaining your stance and profile in your craft . I am currently working with some very talented producers and DJs that I mentor as well as play and make music. My biggest challenge nowadays is getting more dj work out of town and overseas. I just had a tour recently and Switzerland and in France this summer and it was great! I look forward to doing more in coming back but I do not have proper representation so I don’t do a lot of the parties that are out here pushing what I do so I’m hoping that at some point I will run across manager and or agent Or whatever it takes to put me in position or I can tour more spread my music to the world of myself. As I believe this is my purpose I believe and spread it to the whole world and the world will have me let us complete this mission. Amen.
