Meet Eddie Obenauf

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Eddie Obenauf a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Eddie, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I found my purpose through a lot of failures, endless prayers and taking risks. Years of trying new things and learning new efficient ways to make my passion become better and easier. Surrendering my life to Christ and growing my Faith is the number 1 thing. Stepping out of my comfort zone and growing closer and trusting him is the key to it all. I have a very amazing support system from my amazing wife, that I have been with for 22 years. We share 3 beautiful children and 1 in Heaven, that we will see one day!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I have a very strong passion for anything creative. I have been doing Graphic Design for the past 15+ years as my main full time job. I also have a videography and woodworking business on the side. The woodworking is more of a “hobby”. The dream would be to work full time on creating videos and glorifying God’s Kingdom. I also have a Youtube channel for my woodworking stuff and I incorporate ministry work through it. I do feel I have a unique style and a story to tell. I have been gifted with a lot of different talents, so it is only right to use it and share my purpose with everyone.

My YouTube channel is https://www.youtube.com/@ReBirthWoodworKING

My woodworking name is ReBirth WoodworKING

I create a lot of different projects, anything from beautiful epoxy tables, cutting boards, house remodels, shop projects, you name it! I also have a message at the end of all my videos (at least I try to) If that interests you, give me a follow. I have a really cool epoxy table that I am getting ready to create and launch the video on my YouTube channel.

My videography name is ReBirth CinemaKING

Now the videography stuff! I have created so many different projects over the years. Weddings, interviews, business promotional videos, fitness workouts, sporting events, engagement videos, music videos, product review videos, etc. You name it and I probably have done it!

I even do some photography work too! I am basically a digital creator.

I really enjoy helping people. I love an underdog! I have always been one myself. A good friend of mine said “don’t watch a person when things are going good, watch when things aren’t going good and see how that person responds”. That’s what truly defines a persons character. It’s not about how many times you get knocked down and it’s about how times you can get hit and always get back up and keep on fighting the good fight!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. I have a saying “get comfortable with being uncomfortable”! You are going to go through a TON of failures. Looking back, I needed to go through the tough times. Growing to understand that I wasn’t ready yet. Apply your God given gift to your life and seek to perfect it. We all have something that we were gifted with. The key is, learning what it is and finding your purpose to be able to help others.

2. Be open to criticism and just LISTEN! You can learn from anyone! I have learned from my 11 year old son! Talk to people that have been through what you are seeking.

3. NEVER give up! If you are still breathing, you are still in the fight!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

My amazing wife has been by my side and supported me for all of these years! I couldn’t do, what I do, if it wasn’t for her. Her heart is so huge and I love watching her be a mom. She has taught me so much along our journey.

My kids give me so much drive everyday. I work so hard because I want them to see the value of working hard and how it pays off in the end. Being a father is the all time greatest gift and accomplishment of my life. Being there for them and watching them grow into their own individual is amazing but yet scary!

My really good friend, Mario has been a rock in my journey. He’s an amazing mentor and friend! He has helped me become more open and pushed me to use my skills and talents, ultimately, for Gods glory. He is the biggest seed that brought me to Christ and I am forever grateful that God used him to open my eyes.

Grateful if you made it this far and took time to read a little bit about my story. Truly appreciate it and God Bless!
