We were lucky to catch up with Quiana A. Jackson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Quiana A., so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Discovering my purpose was far from an overnight revelation. It was a long, winding journey filled with self-reflection, deep prayer, and the resilience to persevere through life’s many challenges. As I navigated the highs and lows, it became clear that my purpose was intertwined with the very experiences that had shaped me—the good, the bad, and the painful. It wasn’t just about what I was passionate about; it was about listening to God, recognizing the unique gifts He had given me, and embracing the calling to use those gifts to make a lasting impact on the world.
Growing up, I just knew I was destined to be a singer. Music was my passion, but there was something else stirring within me—I loved to ask questions, to engage in conversations, and, let’s face it, I talked a lot! Being the middle child of my mom’s seven children, and one of 13 on my father’s side, I was always seeking to stand out, to be seen and heard. But it wasn’t easy. I battled with low self-esteem, constantly aware of my complexion, my thin frame, and the gap in my teeth. Middle-child syndrome hit me hard, and I often found myself participating in everything at school, not because I wanted to, but to earn the applause of my family. I craved attention and validation, even though deep down, I wasn’t walking in the path God had laid out for me.
My childhood was marred by another painful reality—molestation by a family member. It was a burden I carried silently, unsure how to voice my trauma. At the time, I didn’t even have the word for what was happening; I just knew that no one should be touching me in such private places. That experience of abuse set off a chain reaction of pain in my life. It left me searching for love and validation in all the wrong places, leading to teenage pregnancy and a string of failed relationships. I suppressed my trauma for years, believing that if I moved away, if I started fresh, I could leave my past behind. But no matter how far I ran, I couldn’t escape the truth—I was still living life from a place of brokenness.
After 20 years, my marriage failed, and in the wreckage, my purpose became undeniably clear. God began to reveal that every gift He had placed within me, every challenge I had faced, was part of His greater plan. It was in those broken moments that I finally aligned my life with His will, realizing that my purpose had been shaped not despite my pain, but through it.
The pandemic became a pivotal time in my life. As the world shut down, I found myself separated from my husband and forced to confront the past I had buried for so long. The process was agonizing. As the saying goes, “Life is lived forward but understood backwards,” and it was only by looking back that I began to make sense of my experiences. There were many days and nights when I cried, overwhelmed by the wounds that had only ever been covered with a bandage. But through it all, God was faithful. He kept telling me I was going to write a book, but at the time, I didn’t know where to begin. I only knew that God was calling me to share my story, to use my life to inspire and uplift others.
One day, as I was praying, God gave me the idea to start a podcast. I kept asking Him, “What do You want me to do while we’re waiting for Christ’s return?” That’s when He revealed the framework for QUEUED4Christ: Quickened, United, Educated, Understanding, Excited, and Determined for what God has called us to do in this waiting season.
Through this journey, I learned that purpose isn’t just about personal achievement or success. It’s about using the gifts God has given me to make an impact on others, to bring glory to His name, and to serve His people. My story is not one of instant transformation, but of continual growth, of walking through the fire and coming out refined. It’s a story of how God can take the broken pieces of our lives and use them for His purpose. And it’s a reminder that, no matter what we go through, God’s plan is always greater than our pain.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
The main thing that my podcast does is to dives deep into reaching and teaching people how to live a successful life by applying the Word of God. Q.U.E.U.E.D is a powerful framework that stands for Quickened, United, Educated, Understanding, Excited, and Determined 4 Christ—guiding us as we wait on His return.
With my life experiences, I brings a wealth of wisdom, divine perspective, and professional expertise to each episode, drawing from drawing also from my extensive experience in both the medical and business fields. Having worn many hats and fulfilled diverse roles, I share not only what have been observed but also what I have personally experienced. Every episode delves into impactful topics such as “Success on Purpose,” “No More Fear,” “Dialogue with Darlene,” and more.
With my newly found passion for speaking and motivating others, I’ve spent these last 3 years sharing my journey of breakthrough, where I am making my voice trusted throughout my community and among her peers. One of my biggest new projects is my very first book, Why Not Me: Blueprint From Brokenness to Breakthrough, which is a testament of my journey of how I have applied to framework QUEUED to my life to get me to the next level of my life. The book also goes into detail about some of the challenges that I faced during the most difficult times of my life, and how to overcame them, which it will serve as an inspiration to many. On the podcast, each week, listeners can expect in-depth interviews, expert insights, and personal stories designed to inspire, motivate, educate, and entertain—helping them not only achieve their breakthroughs but also live successful, Christ-centered lives.
When I am not behind the mic, my time is spent mainly with my children where we enjoy serving our church, Change Church under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Dharius Daniels, serving the community, spending quality time with family, singing, walking, and reading. These activities bring a sense of replenishment, re-strengthening, and refocusing to my work and life.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were resilience, empathy, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
1) Resilience – Life’s challenges are inevitable, but resilience allowed me to navigate through the tough times without losing sight of my purpose. Resilience isn’t just about bouncing back; it’s about growing stronger through adversity. My advice to those early in their journey is to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Surround yourself with a support system that encourages you, and remember that every setback is a setup for a comeback.
2) Empathy- Understanding and connecting with others on a deeper level has been crucial in my personal and professional life. Empathy allows you to relate to others, build trust, and create meaningful relationships. To develop empathy, actively listen to others, seek to understand their perspectives, and approach every interaction with compassion. Being able to put yourself in someone else’s shoes will not only improve your relationships but also make you a better leader and collaborator.
3)Commitment to Lifelong Learning – Knowledge is power, and a commitment to continuous learning has been a cornerstone of my journey. Whether through formal education, reading, or learning from life experiences, staying curious and open to new information has kept me adaptable and forward-thinking. For those starting out, I encourage you to never stop learning. Invest in your personal and professional development, seek out mentors, and be open to new ideas. The more you learn, the more equipped you’ll be to face challenges and seize opportunities.
In summary these qualities—resilience, empathy, and a commitment to lifelong learning—have been instrumental in shaping my journey. I encourage those at the beginning of their path to cultivate these traits, as they will serve as a strong foundation for both personal and professional success.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Besides God, my pastor, Dharius Daniels, has been instrumental in helping me overcome challenges and develop the essential skills and qualities needed for success. His leadership, teachings, and guidance have consistently pushed me to dig deeper, not only spiritually but also in understanding the practical aspects of life and personal growth. Pastor Dharius has a unique way of blending biblical wisdom with real-world strategies, and that’s been incredibly impactful for me.
In addition to my pastor, I’ve also been blessed with a supportive network of mentors like Rob Wall, Robert H. Johnson, Jr., and Coach Bridgette Moody, family and friends have offered invaluable advice, encouragement, and accountability. They have challenged me to grow in areas like leadership, communication, and resilience. They’ve also modeled what it means to live with integrity and purpose, helping me apply biblical principles in practical, everyday situations.
For anyone looking to build and develop the qualities necessary for success, I would advise seeking out people who inspire you and challenge you to be better. Surround yourself with mentors and a community that will not only support you but also hold you accountable as you grow.
