Meet Leslie Scofield

We were lucky to catch up with Leslie Scofield recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Leslie, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

I acknowledged my feelings and recognized that I was experiencing Imposter Syndrome. I talked about it with my mentors and friends which made me feel heard and seen. I focused on my achievements, kept a record of my accomplishments, put my trophies up in my office. I took my list of tasks and broke them down into manageable and achievable steps. This reduced my feelings of overwhelm. When negative thoughts came to me, I reminded myself of my skill set and experiences.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I help people with their life insurance, healthcare and safe money retirement planning. We specialize in Mortgage Protection, Veterans Benefits, Union Benefits, Life Insurance, Medicare, Healthcare, Dental, Vision, Hearing, Hospital Indemnity Plans, Long Term Care, Asset Protection, Final Expense, Annuities, Indexed Products. Additionally, I am coaching other agents and building a team of agents who share my vision. What’s exciting about it is two fold. On one hand, we help people protect their biggest assets, their families and their money. On the other hand, our agents serve at a high capacity, which allows them to make high income and gives them the flexibility to be with their family.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Strong communication skills, relationship building and understanding gaps in our clients’ life plans and their vision for their future are the three areas of knowledge that impacted my journey the most. My advice is to practice active listening, seek mentorship from someone you trust who has successfully done what you’re looking to accomplish, network as often as you can and stay patient and persistent.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

Technology Integration and Operational Efficiency. As myagency grows, processes that once worked for me could become inefficient. Identifying bottlenecks and streamlining operations is essential to maintain quality service. Adopting new technologies for CRM, marketing, and policy management has been daunting. Finding the right solutions that integrate well with your existing processes is crucial, especially with AI taking over.
