Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Victor Osho. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Victor, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Creativity is an inherent part of life, though it looks different for everyone, so keeping it alive feels like a constant process even on days when I’m not necessarily putting pen to paper. As an artist I have many different outlets including singing, rapping, traditional illustration, photography, playing guitar, music engineering, and many more outlets I’m still discovering. I love music so there’s rarely ever a day that goes by where I’m not singing or humming to myself and that fuels my creative spirit; but besides that, giving myself days in between working to reconnect with friends and be out in nature and just experience life helps keep my motivation to create alive.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My main focuses right now are in photography and music engineering. I feel the most exciting thing about producing music is bearing witness to a canvas that shifts everytime you hit play. I’m already someone that loves messing with melodies so when I can alter melodic patterns in seconds and hear them back in real-time, it’s very fulfilling and beautiful. Besides that, my editing process when it comes to photography is exciting because I get to make images very vibrant and fun.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Having an improvisational muscle is definitely one of my most important qualities. Exercising patience is another, because these projects take time. Interpretation is another important one because it’s one thing to make a project for myself from scratch, but another to interpret & execute someone else’s vision through your medium.
How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Lack of finances is the main challenge I face. There always comes a point where it feels like there isn’t time for creation or creativity on my off days because of the necessity to make money. Finding a lucrative route of opportunity for my particular skillset is something I feel I need way more exposure to do as well, but I know that starts & ends with me and how much work I put in.
