Meet Udai Sharma

We were lucky to catch up with Udai Sharma recently and have shared our conversation below.

Udai, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

That’s a very intriguing question. I believe everyone finds their purpose in their own way. For me, it’s been about the pursuit of growth—both in terms of personal achievements and material success. I’ve always had a desire for the finer things in life, and that ambition continues to drive me. Growing up in a family that enjoyed both comfort and respect in society, I was surrounded by some of the most influential and powerful individuals in our city.

While many admired or even feared them, I always asked myself, “If they can have it, why can’t I?” That mindset has shaped my journey. My purpose is fueled by the belief that I can achieve what I set my sights on. I work hard, keep my faith strong, and constantly manifest my goals. It’s this combination of action, belief, and vision that drives me forward every day.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

HIFLYER Jewels: Not Just Another Jewelry Brand
HIFLYER started with a simple yet ambitious goal in 2021: to fill a gap in the market between cheap, low-quality jewelry and luxury pieces that could break the bank. We wanted to offer something different—jewelry that blends affordability with sophistication and a sense of luxury. In a market dominated by huge brands like Cartier or small businesses that don’t quite deliver that feeling of accomplishment, HIFLYER stands out.

From day one, our mission was to create products that not only look amazing but also feel luxurious. It wasn’t just about the jewelry—it was about the whole experience, from the packaging to how our team communicates with customers. We’ve since expanded beyond jewelry into streetwear, accessories, and even furniture, making HIFLYER a lifestyle brand. Sure, you can buy a chain anywhere, but it’s rare to find a brand that sells both a stylish necklace and a unique piece of furniture with the same vibe and logo. That’s what makes HIFLYER truly special.

As for what keeps me inspired? I’m constantly on my phone, and social media is an incredible space for inspiration. I admire people like Elon Musk, who went from PayPal to rocket ships, to creating electric cars and even launching Tesla Tequila. That’s the kind of vision I aspire to bring to HIFLYER. Our products are often inspired by everyday items, and what excites me most is creating something fresh, something people haven’t seen before, that captures their imagination.

We’re proud to have customers from over 150 cities, and their feedback is what drives us. When they share pictures of their HIFLYER products or ask us to bring back a sold-out item, or even request something completely new, it fuels our motivation to keep innovating.

On a personal note, I lost my grandmother last year, and during that time, I stepped back for a bit. But it was my incredible team and our loyal customers who helped me return, reminding me that as CEO, it’s my responsibility to keep pushing forward—not just for myself, but for everyone who believes in HIFLYER.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I think there are three key things that made the biggest difference for me: never giving up, being adaptable, and really understanding our customers.

Never Giving Up: There were so many moments when it felt like we were on the verge of shutting down, especially because of financial challenges. But we just kept going. It was like walking through a desert, hoping to find water, and that determination to keep searching was what made all the difference. To anyone starting out, I’d say: don’t give up, no matter how hard things get. There will be times when quitting seems easier, but it’s those tough moments that shape your journey. Keep going—you’ll find your breakthrough.

Adaptability: The world of business is always changing, and you’ve got to be able to change with it. For us, starting as a jewelry brand and then expanding into streetwear, accessories, and furniture happened because we were willing to listen to what our customers wanted and adapt to trends. If you’re just starting, remember to stay flexible. Don’t be afraid to shift gears if needed. Sticking too strictly to a plan can hold you back from some incredible opportunities.

Understanding Your Customer:
This is one of the most important things I’ve learned. You’ve got to know who your customers are and what they care about. For me, this meant paying close attention to customer feedback, comments on social media, and even personal messages. When you understand your audience, you can create things that truly resonate with them. If you’re just starting out, I’d suggest building a real connection with your customers early on. Their feedback can guide your decisions in a way that’ll help your business grow.

For anyone just getting started, focusing on these three things—perseverance, adaptability, and understanding your customer—will help you build a strong foundation and navigate the ups and downs of the journey.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

I’m not a huge fan of reading books since I struggle to sit comfortably for hours, but one book that has really made an impact on me is “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki. I’ve listened to its audiobook at least ten times!

This book truly opens your eyes to the difference between a rich mindset and a poor one. It emphasizes that when you’re on a journey to achieve something significant, it’s your mindset that can make all the difference. Kiyosaki challenges conventional beliefs about money and success, encouraging readers to think differently about their financial futures.

One of the key lessons I took away is the importance of financial literacy and understanding how money works. It’s not just about earning a paycheck; it’s about learning to make your money work for you. This perspective has influenced how I approach business and investments. Overall, the book reinforces that having the right mindset is crucial for achieving your goals.
