Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Naldoven Seizeme. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Naldoven, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

My Generosity comes from the the spirit of Christmas. Ever since I was a child i’ve always loved the idea of christmas and as i’ve gotten older i realized the spirt of christmas is something that the whole world needs 365. It’s the one time of year people are happy and yeah sometimes you have a few grinch stories but at some point in everyone’s life christmas has brought them joy. I believe i can replicate that same joy 365 by just being someone who lights people up when i walk into a room by being happy, It’s why if you come up to be any day of the year and ask me what socks i’m wearing you i’ll show you christmas socks. Over the past 2 years i’ve been in business i’ve found ways to giveback to help spread cheer to people all over long Island. This year my goal is to spread joy to over 50 homes to people in need of some christmas spirit all over long island! My goal by doing this it to help make 1 person around me do something good to help spread cheer and generosity one day at a time.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My name is Naldoven and I love holiday lighting since I was a kid Christmas was the one time of year where I believed that the holidays was the most wonderful time of year! Since Middle School I’ve been hanging lights on my home and after going to college for 2 years I realized it wasn’t for me so I took the plunge into trying to grow myself through a business! In 2022 I was tired of using lights from Walmart, Home Depot because every year I’d have the hassle of lights breaking or being tangled up! I did research and I learned about the holiday lighting industry! I absolutely fell in love with it, being able to brighten lives all over the island and put smiles on peoples faces during the holiday season is a feeling like no other.

Last year my company was able to brighten over 100 homes all over the island and 7 of those homes were seniors in a historically black neighborhood of the Belmont Lake Civic Association! Something my mother had taught me since I’ve been a child is that you always need to give back even when you aren’t where you truly where you want to be but giving will help you grow in the long run. So as my Me & my company continue to grow this year we will continue to give back to families all over the island to help ensure we grow successfully because we give back! As we continue to grow this year our goal is to provide to best expierence and we want to grow double them amount of homes we decorate for free this holiday season!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Leadership – I Have heard of so many business owners who get stuck on the truck and aren’t able to expand their business truly because they don’t learn how to become leaders and not workers/managers. I’ve met some people who do so much and are overwhelmed but can’t keep workers stunting their growth. Something i’m super grateful for is my Chick-Fil-A Experience and how leaders are built and really learn how to support and build themselves with a team. I’m 22 Years old now and i’ve seen my parents and people who are double my age make mistakes and learn lessons i’ve learned from my years working here. Spending the time to learn how to grow yourself as a leader will make you the most successful person in anything you do! My time of working at Chick-Fil-A has given me the tools and the platform to be successful this year and it’s what going to help me reach my goal this year!

Time Management & Enjoy Life
Learn how ot manage your time and get rid of things that waste your precious time! Something i’ve learned working my full time job 40 Hours at Chick-Fil-A while balancing running my own business is time management! How do i manage to get everything i need to get done at work and keep myself going! But then how do i get work done before or after for my business! Managing doing both has been the biggest challenge of all trying to organize myself and still hit the goals and results i want! But if i didn’t struggle like this i would not be where i am today! I’m looking to hit a crazy goal during this holiday season within a few months because i had to learn how to do both! I learned that every moment counts, using trackers and organizing what i have to do in a day to help ensure i get the results i want while learning what is important for me to do and what needs to be delgaded!

Always Keep Learning and network with people!
It’s my Currently my year of learning and it’s been my goal to speak to someone new every single day and learn something new about them! Something my mom told me when i was a younger is that if you want to be the smartest person in the roo, you need to learn about every single person you meet and the experiences they have gone through! Wether you meet someone younger then you or older then you ask them a fun fact! Anytime i meet someone new i always about a fun fact about themself and learn about where they want to be and what are their goals! Spend the time networking people in your industry or outside of it at the end of the day there is money to be made everywhere and it’s 2024 you can make money doing anything! Learn new things and figure out what will make you happy and the most successful! You may learn something from someone that will be game-changing and that will change your outlook on life!

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

My parents put me to work the day I turned 16! Even before I was put me to work they were always ambitious and always were doing things to help their community or to build a better life for themselves and me. Being around an environment where I know my parents were always working and striving to be the best they could be was motivating. When I was a kid I loved being on the computer and they knew that so they asked me to work on doing AV work for my church and they I learned completely learned how to do AV Professionally or when they know I loved being active and outdoors and they had a project they needed help with outside they taught me how to do it and they asked me to learn how to use a chainsaw and cut down trees properly and then I did!

Them always pushing me to do better and learn new things all the time inspired me to do the things I love and giving me the platform and the tools to do so allowed me to learn so many skills and made me the person who I am today!

My Parents Evelyne & Onald Seizeme made me who I am today they gave me the tools & the platform to be the best person I could be and as i start my new Yule Love Lights internship program i can’t wait to provide others with the new tools & platforms so others can grow!
