Meet Khristian A Osuna

We recently connected with Khristian A Osuna and have shared our conversation below.

Khristian, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I believe my persistence and drive come from many places, but at the core, my work ethic is fueled by a deep desire to make a difference in the world, however I can. Despite growing up in a low-income home, without a father figure, and having my creative side suppressed at times, I’ve always held onto the feeling of wanting to leave my mark on history. That drive has never wavered. I’m grateful for everything I’ve learned, and despite the losses and obstacles I’ve faced, I’ve come out stronger because of them.

Another key factor is my desire to make my family proud. It’s my dream to repay my mother and sisters for all the guidance and support they’ve given me, which I believe has set me on the right path. Growing up surrounded by strong women who shaped and raised me is something I’ll forever be thankful for. The love, support, and encouragement from my family, friends, and wonderful girlfriend motivate me to wake up each day ready to give it my all.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m a costume and prop maker and designer from Los Angeles, California. I work on a wide variety of projects, including superhero armor, suits, gadgets, props, and other exciting, challenging creations. What makes my work so thrilling is the creative freedom and self-expression that come with each project. My passion lies in costume making, and there’s nothing quite like sketching out a concept and watching it slowly come to life—it feels like a dream.

One of my biggest goals is to share the gift of costumes and the “superhero feeling” with people all over the world, regardless of income, background, or identity. By the “superhero feeling,” I mean a sense of greatness. Some may think it’s crazy, but there’s an undeniable power in wearing a cape and mask—the “hell yeah” feeling you get inside. Through my business, I aim to capture that feeling and use it to make a positive impact.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three things I feel were most impactful are simple but powerful:

1. Never settle for anything less than Ideal – There will be times when the world may pressure you to settle… don’t.

2. If you want it, go get it. – Your drive, fire, and passion for your goals are in YOUR hands, what will you do with it?

3. Be kind, connect, and spread love. – You can’t truly grow without achieving peace with your surroundings and neighbors. When we learn from one another, and lead with open minds and open hearts – THAT is when the magic truly happens.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

I focus on the “four corners.” I once heard an analogy that stuck with me and has influenced my daily life ever since. The four corners of a “balanced life puzzle” are Friends, Family, Job, and a Hobby. The key ingredient? Passion. Leading with passion in each of these areas is, in my belief, the secret to a balanced and fulfilling life. When one corner feels overwhelming, I lean into the others. If work is stressful, I turn to my hobby for relief. If my hobby starts to feel draining, I talk to my friends or family. It’s all about keeping the four corners strong and putting your energy and heart into them. Relying on this approach has saved me in more ways than I can count, but it’s leading with passion that made me the person I am today.
