Meet Garrett Swann

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Garrett Swann. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Garrett, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

In my early 20s, I was completely lost. I knew what I wanted, I knew I had talent, and I knew I had a good heart—one that brought smiles to others. At least, that’s the response I often got. Happiness and joy can be contagious, after all. I even sought out a medium, desperate to understand the source of my unhappiness. She laid out details of my past lives and their purposes, but when it came to my current life, she simply said, “I’m unclear what your purpose is now.” Talk about a “WTF” moment—here I was, a good person, but without a clear direction. Over the next 30 years, I navigated countless challenges to discover where I fit in, who I truly was, and what my purpose might be. That was when my transformation truly began…

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

People often call me a renaissance man, and I’ve reinvented myself more times than I can count. That’s part of the journey, though, isn’t it? As we evolve as individuals, so do our careers. My path has been all about trying new things and exploring new opportunities.

In my early 20s, my dream was to become a film and TV actor, and in 2006, I got that opportunity, starring alongside Bo Derek, Morgan Fairchild, and Taylor Kinney in *Fashion House*. That experience sparked a passion for developing TV shows, leading me to produce short films and co-produce independent features.

Then, in 2015, I discovered my entrepreneurial spirit. I created my brand, *The Garrett Swann*, on Instagram and TikTok, which led me to build a modeling career. I took a 10-year break from acting, but now I’m shifting back into it. Along the way, I launched a men’s underwear brand called ALPHX (ALPHX.com) three years ago, with the mission to help men feel more comfortable in their own skin—one pair of underwear at a time.

As I’ve evolved, so has the content I’ve created on social media. My goal has always been to inspire others by sharing my personal style and experiences. Now, approaching my mid-50s, I’ve gathered a lifetime of philosophies from my global adventures. Life, to me, is an open road, a runway that’s always changing, and a vast ocean that constantly regenerates.

Through all of life’s challenges, I try to have fun, laugh, and embrace the unknown. As I navigate these experiences, I’m determined to uncover truths and share insights, offering others a glimpse into life’s infinite possibilities. The result? A journey that’s spiritual, funny, mental, and physical, with one simple aim: to make people smile and share my motto: Have Swimsuit, Will Travel.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Throughout my journey, three key qualities have consistently guided me: persistence, relentless drive, and an understanding that “no” simply means “keep going.” These traits have been invaluable, helping me push through countless challenges and rejections, knowing that success often comes to those who refuse to give up.

For those just starting out, my advice is simple but crucial: hard work will pay off, even when the results aren’t immediate. Stay committed to your vision, but be adaptable. Be open to networking—it’s not just about who you know, but also about who knows you. And never be afraid to ask for help; no one achieves success entirely on their own. Collaboration and learning from others can propel you further than you ever imagined.

One thing I forgot, keep active. Caring for your body inside and out is the key to strength within your journey.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

Believing in and supporting your kids and their dreams is the key to helping them build a successful career. It’s not about dictating what they should do or how they should do it, but providing the encouragement and resources to help them get there. My parents believed in my vision, and during tough times, they helped me stay focused on perseverance. They believed in me and my passions—and they always showed up when I needed them most.
