Meet Windy LaShell Butler

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Windy LaShell Butler. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Windy LaShell, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from having a passion for what I do which drives my desires to do the best I can. I’m constantly challenging myself to do better which allows me to work harder to be worthy of reward. I learn from my mistakes and pick up the pieces and make it better. You must have failure to gain success.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I own and operate a wedding venue here in the heart of Somerville Tennessee. My passion is to give each and every single one of my brides the dream wedding they desire. Whether it’s her groom riding up on a beautiful walking white horse or he’s stepping up to play that classical tune on a beautiful white baby grand piano at the ceremony. I want to make sure if she dreams it, she gets it!!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I would say the most top three important qualities that were the most impactful in my journey was enthusiasm, hospitality, and challenge. One must have the enthusiasm to have the eager and drive of interest to fulfill the enjoyment of what can blossom. Hospitality is a must, but it has to come from within a persons heart to be a cheerful and generous but at the same time one must love to entertain guests. Challenge always meets my expectations as to we can always improve and do that much better!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
I would say first and foremost I give credit to God as he gets the glory for all that he has helped me accomplish.
My second would be my dear husband of 36 years of marriage that has inspired me to seek my dreams and challenges as he has always believed in me.
