Meet Alexander G. Hayes

We recently connected with Alexander G. Hayes and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexander G., we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I developed my confidence through overcoming hardships, including homelessness as a young adult and being uprooted multiple times as a child. My mom trusted me enough to live on my own in Memphis, which helped shape who I am today. Despite having little materially, I had a big imagination and a drive to take over the world, which gave me the confidence I have now.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

These days, I focus on performing at events, including creating platforms like Momentum for local artists to showcase their talent. My upcoming single Curfew drops on October 25th, continuing the momentum from my previous releases like I Might and Imperfect. Through my brand, Best In Productions, I design my own merch and embody the belief that if you put the best in, you’ll get the best in return.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Artist development, Budgeting, And being true to yourself. You have to become a student of the information about the music business. There is a lot of misinformation floating around on the Internet and being passed on, I think the biggest way that artist can help themselves is by their own research.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most impactful thing that my parent did for me was Believe In Me. My mom hadn’t witnessed too many moments to discover greatness because she was always working. I was in middle school my mom missed work & saw my first touchdown, This lady had never seen her boy like this. I’m just just blessed to have tremendous support at a young age. Before my mom passed away, I told her that I was beginning to commit to the military right at the brink of me finding my sound with music. I was seeing my mom again for the first time in many years. She observed me, She paid attention to me. She knew my heart was. My passion wasn’t. She told me to do what would make me happy. A year later she passed.
