Meet Smiz Smith

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Smiz Smith. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Smiz, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Confidence is built through repetition. When it comes to Art, or anything in life, repetition builds speed, accuracy, and confidence. The more I create with favorable outcomes, the better I feel about taking on new challenges. I’ve been able to build my self-esteem by realizing that everyone goes through something in their life. No one in a good place will say anything bad about someone that’s making a genuine, honest effort. That, and having a low self-esteem or feeling “embarrassed” is a mental punishment we put on ourselves. We judge ourselves based on how we THINK people perceive us when we make an error, trip, stumble, anything.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a Texas based Artist & Content Creator. On the Art side of things, I make illustrations, create designs, and even make music. I’m an Artist in the sense that I love ALL of the Arts, but Illustration, Dance, & Music are my favorites. As a Content Creator, I make videos that resonate with the Art community. Skits, tutorials, and product reviews fall into this category. I also do video work for brands that need short form videos to promote their products.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Learn the process of selling. Learn Marketing. Learn Photography & Videography. The various jobs I’ve had in the past have all taught me these things, and they translate very well into the Art & Content Creation space. Learn how to use a camera to create the best shots for your videos. Learn how to market yourself, or the brand you’re working with. Learn how to sell to over come objections and find the right people for your brand, or product.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’d love to work with authors, publishers, fashion designers, and even car enthusiasts. I’d love to have my work influence fashion through basic tee shirt designs, all the way to entire outfits. I’d work with authors or publishers to illustrate book covers, graphic novels, and posters.
