Meet Brynn Gibbs

We were lucky to catch up with Brynn Gibbs recently and have shared our conversation below.

Brynn , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

Since a young age, I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I loved coming up with creative ways to make money while enjoying the process, whether it was running a small business in my neighborhood or finding unique opportunities to solve problems. This mindset stayed with me throughout college and into my early adulthood, where I thrived on taking initiative and pursuing challenges.

What’s driven me over the years is my desire for autonomy—I’ve never wanted to simply report to someone else. Instead, I prefer being the architect of my own life, making decisions, and steering my own course. This has taught me to be disciplined, adaptable, and always focused on growth. Overcoming obstacles and evolving year after year is what fuels my work ethic, and I apply this mentality in everything I do. Most importantly, I always strive to do what I love and what makes me happy. This way it doesn’t feel like work.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am the founder and CEO of Consumer Fusion, a bootstrapped, AI-powered reputation management, local listing, and social media platform trusted by over 10,000 businesses, including some of the country’s most well-known brands. Under my leadership, Consumer Fusion has been recognized as a top marketing partner in franchising by Entrepreneur magazine and has twice been featured on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies. Personally, I’ve been honored as one of the Top 50 Women of Influence in Technology, LA Times Women of Influence, and Leaders of Influence in Marketing and PR.

My journey into reputation management began after I was cyberbullied at a young age, which led me to develop a self-taught expertise in removing inappropriate content. Over the past 15 years, my team has helped thousands of businesses protect themselves from illegitimate online attacks. Today, Consumer Fusion leverages cutting-edge AI technology to remain a leader in the space, providing businesses with trusted solutions year after year

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Persistence, discipline, and passion are key pillars when it comes to entrepreneurship. Starting your own business is undeniably more challenging than working for someone else because it requires you to be fully responsible for every decision and obstacle, especially when you are a bootstrap founder. When you’re running your own company, there’s no safety net, no one to hand off tasks to, and no guaranteed paycheck. That’s why having an unwavering passion is essential—it’s what keeps you going when things don’t go as planned.

You have to be prepared to face setbacks, and more importantly, to bounce back every time you get knocked down. The drive to persevere comes from believing in what you’re building and having the discipline to push through those tough moments. Starting and growing a business isn’t just a matter of working hard; it’s about being relentless in the pursuit of your goals, adapting to changes, and learning from failures. Your ability to get back up, keep evolving, and push forward is what ultimately sets successful entrepreneurs apart.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

There are several books that have been impactful for me but the top four are:

What got you here won’t get you there.
The core idea of the book is that the skills, strategies, and approaches that brought you success in the past may not be the ones that will take you to the next level.

How to Win Friends and Influence People. I’ve read this book multiple times and I highly encourage people to read it on both a personal and business level.

Mindset. This book touches on a fixed vs growth mindset and its influence on one’s approach to challenges, success, and personal growth. This book changed my life and parenting style!

The Gap & the Gain. A recent read of mine, which also changed my life, touches on measuring success by reflecting on how far you’ve come, rather than comparing yourself or your journey to others.
