Trini, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

Resilience
It is in you not on you. The sweetest element of yourself that you meet in the most sour times of your life. One finds resilience when they realize that is the only way out of the flame. The only reason a phoenix exists is resilience. Hardship finds us all. Some of us more than others. The way we recover from the beating of life builds resilience. You then get to a point where you understand that it will all work out in your favor. You get used to recovery. You begin to heal faster each time. It’s almost like resilience is a skill. This skill kept me alive. This talent is what fuels me to move forward. Resilience is in me, not by accident, but with practice. When you understand that quitting is only delaying the inevitable, you will push yourself thru. Quitting does not solve your problems, it just prolongs the pain. I get up, chin up and move forward. Life is hard so you must choose your hard. Quitting is hard and succeeding is hard. I choose success. This is where my resilience comes from.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a creative all around but I want to focus on music specifically. I sell words otherwise known as rapping. My music is based on feeling. How I feel, how I want the listener to feel, or how at times I feel nothing at all. Music is supposed to move people in some way. It is up to the listener to process the art as positive, negative, or neutral. Trini is a brand similar to the artist but separate. Trini exudes confidence, she is braggadocious and unapologetic. She is the moment. I want Trini to become a global brand that represents a wild card. I want it to showcase how some things just can’t be categorized or boxed in. Multifaceted people exist and should be celebrated not punished for going outside the lines. Trini does not have one sound, topic, or way of presenting. She is well rounded and authentic. Something that no one has seen before. A true Wild Card. My music is expressive and healing for me. How it is interpreted is not under my control. Just know there is passion and purpose. I have an upcoming project titled ‘Mic Check’. It is an EP that was fun to create. I hope to receive good feedback after its release.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Resilience, Consistency, and Faith are my big 3. You must stay consistent if you want to yield any lasting results. Never quit, only pause to catch a breath and keep going afterwards. Have faith that it will all work out. Faith is the most important ingredient to this recipe. There are going to be times where that is the only thing you have to hold onto. You need this for fuel. The journey to your goals comes with its obstacles and doubt. Keep the faith, stay consistent, and get back up after you fall. You won’t fail if you stick to this.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I am completely open to collaboration. I need people around me that believe in the vision. They must be accountable and authentic. Be upfront with what you expect to receive from this collaboration. I prefer them to have great communication skills to ensure a seamless process. I’m down to collab with all moving parts that make the music possible. This ranges from producers and managers to graphic designers and stylists. If you feel we can collaborate on something, don’t hesitate to reach out. There is always a need for help.
